    Thanks man!

I still need to dremel the top of the rods but all in all that one is done - just gotta do the other one!

Thanks again! Looking forwards to your impressions!

Take your time! As badly as I want to listen to them I want you to take a comfortable and fun pace. I've already started designing an enclosure mod that will rise to the level of your Fortress mod. Even thinking of a Lucite panel and blue LED light to show these xovers off!

TSI400 completed! Just gotta test them out!

I know they are lytics - but I really like the feel and build quality of the Nichicon caps - incredible quality...

    Both done! W000t

After doing this mod myself with all your parts, god I can appreciate that picture!!! Man that is freaking art.... Dry stacking and arranging is like painting a picture on canvas... Canvas being the PCB...

I just priced out using Clarity's SA with Mundorf Supremes on my Surrounds and it was nearly $300 bux.... Maybe you can do better?

I dont get any deals on parts - I am not THAT busy.... You have to buy 10+ per part to get any breaks...

I do have some ESA, Sonicap, Mundorf Supreme caps laying around - let me know what parts you need and I will see what I have - work ya out a deal of course!

Just a thought but since most people say that Bi-wiring and Bi-amping is useless why not have any option of only 2 posts? Just thinking out load here.

I personally like having the option - but I did it that way because most all of the speakers that come through here are that way...

Just an example - every speaker you own is bi-wire capable...

I guess it's nice to have the option. I've tried the bi-amp thing but didn't think I could hear a difference but yeah if I had the option I'd probably stick with 4 posts! On your new Fortress Edition can we use bare wire to hook up? Asking because with the backing plate being metal it doesn't look like that would be an option?

    Oh yeah!

Everything is heavily insulated. You would just have to make sure a stray strand does not touch the plate...

    Thanks bro!

I have not had the pleasure to do the LSiM...

Judging by pictures I have seen there are quite a few boards on the inside...

Interesting, what are you using to bi-amp?

    I am just running a Denon AVR1712.....

Basically its a a 7.1 but I think they have a discrete amp for each channel. So basically I can assign the zone2 or surround back amps to front height, A/B Speakers, or as a bi-amp in the amp settngs. I know most people say that it shouldn't make a difference, but I think it really does especially on two channel stereo on the VR3 RTi8 setups....

Whether less noticeable or noticeable at all on Home Theater I can't really tell.... But just saying does make a difference on two channel MP3's ate 196kb or higher which I usually have.

Did you have them bi-amped before the XO mods?

Just wanted to comment that bi-amping works best when you filter the signal before it reaches the amplifier... that way the amp is only working to amplify the signal the driver is doing versus a full bandwidth signal that the crossover then filters...

No I didn't biamp them before the mods mainly because every source on the internet said it was useless. But I think it helped.

I don't have a dac so its just music probably stereo mp3 into the receiver. Its a denon 1712

I would definitely recommend trying it non bi-amped and regular just to make sure you are hearing a difference! I am glad you are enjoying the mods!

    LSi9 Fortress coming soon :)

Well, the Fortress mods for the TSi400's are due to arrive this afternoon. Guess what I'll be doing tonight??!!!

I tried the TSi400s both single then biamped from my Onkyo TX-NR808 and definitely noticed more depth and a larger soundstage. Could have been a placebo effect but I perceived a positive difference. However, I latter went back to a single wireup when I added my Adcom GFA5400 in the chain. That alone made a greater impact than biamping.

I'll report back my listening impressions of the Fortress mod on the TSi400 latter tonight or tomorrow morning.

Just unboxed everything, All arrived in mint condition. The Fortress crossover assembly is much larger in real life! Really a piece of art! Beautiful workmanship and skillfully executed.

Getting ready to reinstall the drivers and plug them in for a test drive. Very psyched!

Yeah its a lot of work and how Trey puts everything is nothing short of a work of art.

Enjoy! You will definitely notice more sound pumping out of these things.... Based on my Audyssey EQ XT settings, it pumps out always 2x sound. My settings went for the front from -3.5db to -9dm LOL to balance everything out in the room according to Audyssey.....

    Mission Accomplished!!!!!

The drivers and Fortress crossovers are installed and I've been listening to some Diana Krall for the last hour, just started to listen to some Dire Straits.

First impressions: I'm very pleased with the results. Contrasted against my memory of the pre-mod
    sound:
The low frequencies are significantly better. Not so boomy, much tighter. Very warm, smooth and spacious. The instruments place themselves well on the sound stage and are quite detailed.

Vr3 Fortress Rocks!!!! Thanks for your work!!!
