These will fit any Polk speaker in the last 10 or so years with a bi-wire/bi-amp plate....

You can use the stock crossovers or modded - but obviously you, I or someone else would have to mod them to get them to that stage. I am not prepared to fork out the $$$ to prebuild crossovers... :)

These will definitely fit any Polks though! :)

How does it sound, what are the differences over stock ?

They should feature similar upgrades your SDAs had when you modded them... better clarity, definition, staging - bass response and control, etc

    Also!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!! :)

RTiA7/CSiA6 combo sporting the Fortress - should be fun!

I am interested to see if I can pull off a PTP wiring with the A7 on the small boards...

sweet deal. Who is getting these? Do you have some kind of gasket to seal the aluminm plate / protect the RTI's wood finish. Sheet of cork from an auto parts store would work well. Foam weather stiping would also work well.

    Yes.

They are 35 each + shipping.. :) (Engraved plates with personalized info would be $5.00 per plate)

That includes nuts, washers, bolts, etc

Im wondering if you have ever did a set of rti 10 crossovers?Had a look at the ones in my 10's and wrote down the cap values.A couple of 10's an eight, 5.1 and 2 of 0.47j.I kinda thought the 10's and the a7 were supposed to be the same speaker internally, but when I look at the pic of the a7 crossover you did I think I'm looking at a lot higher value caps than I have in my rti 10 crossovers. The biggest difference that I think I'm seeing is an 18 in the sub board where I have just a piddly 5.1,as well as an 18 in the mid tweeter board in place of a 10.I'm not a techno wizard of any sort, so please bear with me if I'm **** something up here. Also wondering if it would pay to swap out caps and resistors to a7 values if the urge to upgrade struck?I've heard said the a7 and 10 sound different, the a7 being inproved;people credited the a7 fancyer cabnet. Maybe not...

I would not change any values, using nicer parts would drastically improve your speakers.

Kind of cool - would be easy to do a tri-wire configuration if so desired...

Separated the mid and tweeter section completely - nice easy layout... :)

This was an extremely difficult mod to do... but I still like it better than using the Polk circuit boards! :P

You shouldn't cut those leads so short on the caps, some look less than 1/4". It can cause excessive heat to enter the cap when soldering.

    Noted, thank you.

The lead is actually about 5/8" or so (total). I usually cut them down to about 5/8-3/4 and will wrap the connecting wires around it and solder on to it - has worked pretty well so far. I definitely would never cut it down to the 1/4 range - outside of the reason you mentioned it just would not be very secure.

    :)

I meant that it looked like a 1/4" from the solder to the cap itself. Not far for the heat to disipate.

I understand what you are saying.

Unfortunately working in such tight constraints I sometimes I do not have much of a choice. I usually am not on the metal to long - I have a variable heat (digital) soldering iron so I can control it pretty well...

As noted - I have not experienced issues caused by such circumstances... in the future though will make adjustments where possible.

I have received the crossovers and installed them right away. The quality of the work you did Trey is outstanding, it's too bad those x-overs are inside the speaker and not outside. Also I have never received the package that would be that well packed.
I am in the process of burning the crossovers in, but I can already hear a difference in sound. I don't know how to describe it but my it is much more detailed, specially in a mid area. They also sound cleaner.

Thanks so much for the awesome communication you were able to provide during the process. I just realised we have exchanged about 70 emails all together. That's more then I posted comments on this forum :-).

So what else can you upgrade for me ? :-P
