so I've been waiting around for the black friday sales on the polk ebay store
waiting for the Lsi9's to drop again and it starts tommorow
I head to the website today and this is what I see

the price has been jacked up the day before.
The funny part is that they still left the 45% off title on the ad.

    Mike, it should be $549.97 at 45% off $999.95, so it seems logical to me that someone typed a 6 instead of a 5....otherwise known as a typo.

    If price is that much of a concern, why not look for some used ? Seen plenty in the 400 ball park.

    Considering they did the same for both of their LSi9 auctions (ebony and cherry), it doesn't seem like a typo to me. However, I could be wrong.

    Well looky here, Polk has a pair of LSi25's on eBay at 44% off the $2799.90 list, but the actual sale price is 50% off list.

    The LSiM 703's are calling; don't know what your budget is, Jim, but definitely worth a look see.

    And an email to Polk CS might have obtained an explanation, if not a correction (if there was an error; didn't get my calculator to check the math).

    This is Polk deciding to lower the discount they're giving you on a refurbished product, that's it. Prices change all the time, anyone here bought gasoline in the last 10 years? Polk is well withing their right to set the prices and discounts they offer as they see fit, and the fact that the word 'ethics' was even mentioned in this thread is idiotic. This sounds like the usual case of 'guys holds out to get the best deal possible and guy ends up missing the good deal already on the table' and now he's pissed. Sorry bud, you took a gamble that they'd lower the price again, and you lost, such is life.

    LOL, hardcore defenders always come out. I've been watching this add for a long time and the price has been 549 with free shipping. Then a few days before black friday the price is 649 and then 549 for black friday. Dude you cant defend this, its bad business

    Love how people defend this crap. Some people just liek being jerked around. You can't say BLACK FRIDAY sale price when you jack the regular sale price up to drop it down again. If you can't see that your just a fool. Defending moves like this means you deserve to get ripped off.

    here, I'll put it in a way you'll understand.

    for months the price has been $549 which is 45% off.

    THEN a few days before black friday they go in and change it to $649 but forget to change the title that says 45% off (which proves that they raised the price)

    THEN they drop it back to $549

    If you don't see something wrong with that. Give your head a shake

    Who is being jerked around? You aren't obligated to purchase the product, and you have no say in what they decide to set the price at. You can dislike the price, but you are in no position to question how they want to price things. There's nothing to defend. Their track record is so good it can obliterate your minor useless qualm.

    I bought my RTI at 50% off and Polk CS was great when I needed them. I have owned 4 pairs of Polks and when I need more, Polk will be my first choice. They have a great product and when you call them they help you. Pretty good deal even at full price.

    Here's something to think about.

    As a refurb product they are priced under what retail price is normal set at. Refurbs can be for any reason such as a defect on them, return, etc. If something has a defect they may have to price it less than something without and knowing that might have set the price. Also how the hell do you know what the price is going to be on black friday??

    How do you know they are going to drop the price. Maybe they figured they were loosing too much money at the 45% off and so they decided to raise the price. IMO if you're complaining about getting money off then you have a problem. Why not buy them new? Better yet go into a dealer and tell them you want them for the cost on the website. Doubt you will get any takers and your bitching about nothing.

    You claim we are defending the company. Big deal, you're a dumbass who waited to long on getting something and so now have to place blame on someone else besides yourself because you waited too long. Good Job. Do the same with everything else in life?

    If you work for a company did your prices change? do you offer refurbs? Do you know how pricing works? If you do, you sure don't show the knowledge in your post.

    oh and the picture shows 15% off...hmmm think your getting a better deal than that already...

    For weeks, the price on the Lsi9s were $550 and the price on the Lsi7s were $400. They are the same now but they have been marked down. That's all I meant.

    Props to Polk for letting this thread continue! Unlike a certain amplifier producer who shut down a thread in which a guy (who had ordered and returned multiple amps) complained about them not allowing him to order any more amps. They not only shut it down, but they also deleted his actual posts.
