Ok I got these all back together and when I ran my audyssey it said my right channel is out of phase?? I know I connected everything back per the Polk wiring sheet, but the only thing I was unsure on was the two black wires coming off the board that connect to the inductor. Could I have these wrong?

I don't think those programs work well with SDA's.

No, it doesn't matter which one goes where.

hehe, Jesse had mentioned he was using them on his and whats funny is where I work we use NL4 allllll day and I had never really thought about it. I have used XLR before without issue.

NL2/4 is a very secure, great connection.

    Works great for SDA! :)

I will be doing this mod in accordance to my AI-1. Picture just two of those NL connectors on a AI-1. Ohhhh I can't wait.

Dude that MIT Shotgun cable is rediculously thick. Is that the actual cable or the wire that splits out of the jacket? (Like just the positive leg)?

Insane! That had to be some $$$ wire.

That's the actual cable. Inside are two completely separate runs. We'll leave it at that.

The connector is the NLT4FX, which I had to mill out in order to fit the cable.

Well I have had these up and running for a day now and I will give the feedback I can.

Packaging: Ok so this really has nothing to do with the sound, but man what a great job. Everything was packed well and I have more packing peanuts then I know what to do with.

Build: Everything is top notch. As mentioned the IC cable is really cool. I love the fact that it creates a super secure connection.

Sound: Well I will have to get back to you. First impression is there is just more detail then what my RTA were able to offer. As I told Trey I want these to be my destination speaker and I feel I have that. Now I just need to let them break in for a few hundred hours.

Great to hear bud, burn in is a stout 250 hours :)

I recommend leaving it on repeat at about 70-80db while you are out of the house for like 2 weeks lol

Did you have to mod those? I looked at the Jantzen parts specs and couldn't find inductors that were close matches to original. I've sold my 1C's, but my friend who bought them may be interested.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I had to unwind one, I have a special secret source to obtain Jantzen inductors in 2-3 weeks. I am hiding it to my grave. I would be happy to let him purchase them through me though!

    Thanks! :)

Hey Trey I am finishing up my 1C's this weekend with the stock inductors but let me know when you get setup on pricing and on the 2.3Tls if and when you get the proper specs for parts on them.

Here is a dumb question, what is taking place when you are doing a burn in ?
Here is another one, when do you know it's time to replace them again?

what is taking place when you are doing a burn in ?

The materials inside the caps are forming thru the charge/discharge cycles.
when do you know it's time to replace them again?

Unless something becomes defective, you'll never have to replace tham again.
