Sweet, i know who's doin my xovers when the time comes!!!:cheesygrin::cheesygrin:

Since you are relatively local then no problem. There are already a few people that seem to offer soldering service here. I would rather take a back seat to them. However, for the locals I may be more convenient. Also, since I don't want to do this for money my charge would be $0, or you can karma something to CP.

I wrote Ben yesterday at his Yahoo account looking for my tweeters. No reply yet. BTW, this is after 3 weeks of waiting for him to ship something he said he would finally get around to shipping. I bought them 3 months ago too. I am through defending him.

well i've been biting my tongue but here is what happened to the $350 i spent on modded xovers from Ben and he will not respond and/or make good on it.

How long did it take for this to happen? Ben did my XO's almost a year ago and all this talk of shoddy work and now this picture have me worried. If I haven't had any trouble yet, should I probably be ok?

Sorry to hear about the misfortune of others, but great (though not unexpected) to see people here step up to help out.

    Maybe 50 hours.
I have a set of 3.1tl's and 2B's he did a long time ago and they both have well over 100 hours on them and work fine.Actually i am using the 3.1's now that these fried and they sound terrific.
They also look well built where when these showed up they looked sloppy.I just never expected this sloppy.

It happens. I've seen it happen to members on other forums that suddenly go from solid to
shady to gone. I think they just melt down, and it reflects in their dealings with others.
I'm glad that other members have stepped up to help out.

As long as the parts were installed where they should be, the only real thing to worry about is cold solder joints. I would think anything else would have shown up already. Cold solder joints can take years to show up, but are easy to fix, and shouldn't cause any permanent damage.

there is no team lower than the Vikes this season.

Well, I see that you haven't been following the Rams ! ( the 0 and 16 Rams, mind you )

Mega cool how some standup folks are helping to resolve most of the problem by offering their services. Appears to be some of the same folks who have helped Ben in the past.

And while there's NO excuse, hope that Ben gets some needed help, for his sake and his family.

Something to think about, perhaps, is that while it may be bad to get shafted by Ben, it could be worse. You could be Ben.

    Still, no excuse.

Those inductors come from the factory covered in glue, so that's not the problem. I could see the use of non-common ground amps without the AI-1 causing that issue tho.

Regardless, there's no excuse for the multitude of issues folks here have had dealing with Ben. Some of us "old timers" tried to warn folks about him, but many wouldn't listen. Hopefully, the next time you will.

Personally, I think enough is enough. It's time to show him the door.

Wow, this is some good stuff.

ben, you can't expect everyone to welcome you back with open arms after you disappeared for 9 months. You have a mess to clean up and honestly you can blame the Hurricane, moving, a hospital stay or whatever else you want but in the end the brunt is on your shoulders. Communication is a two way street, when people don't hear from you for months on end they consider it a dodge. And having someone else post for you is suspect. They could say they are talking for you, but it looks worse than it helps, just making a phone call to someone can ease everyone's stress. All of this could have been avoided.

I have never done business with you so I can't talk to your work skills or ethic, but from what I have seen your communication skills are extremely lacking.

    Good Luck,

I generally stay out of these threads, but at what point are steps going to be taken to protect individuals who don't know the peculiar history of Ben. The Mods should at least suspend his access to PM so to make certain any communications via CP can at least be regulated and observed.

No disrespect, but that may not be your decision. There have been quite a few members here who have received the benefit of the doubt when they really don't deserve it. Not to rehash, but there was another member who accepted gifts and donations for a bogus stick up. This is no different in my opinion. Accepting money for work from members of a forum and never delivering on the promises is lying and stealing and undermines the thing that makes this place so fun to be. A lot of people saw through it and others wanted to vouch for him. I thankfully was one of the ones that thought it was sketchy from the go.

I find it curious that the only time there is any communications from him is when one of these threads start up. If he has no access and no way to communicate, how does he know.

I have defended Ben in the past, but in light of the fact that this crap has been ongoing for the better part of a year now, it's time to face facts. Ben has become a sith lord, consumed by the dark side. I don't know what name he goes by now, but the good man that was Ben is gone.
