I have a hard time believing Deschutes Brewery isn't yet on the list.

Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Obsidian Stout, Black Butte Porter. These are practically a food group!

    Too much **** to list....

So the son-n-law (fresh out of Uof Texas) and I for the sake of cooler weather, beer, football, and a fancy for black and tans have decided to do a beer test. We did some googling and a couple calls to some local liquor stores and came up with a list of beers available. We will try each beer on its own and then close the day making the black/tans

    Ale's
Boddingtons Pub cream ale draught (English)--Recommended by Russman
    PETRUS AGED PALE Ale [BELGIUM]
    Bass ale(Traditional Black and Tan)
    INDEPENDENCE PALE ALE (Texas)
AUSTIN BEERWORKS PEACEMAKER ALE (Texas) His recommendation

    STOUTS
    YOUNG'S DOUBLE CHOCOLATE STOUT (English)
ST. PETERS CREAM STOUT * [ENGLAND]
    MOYLANS IMPERIAL STOUT * [USA]
Guiness Stout (Traditional Black and Tan)
    INDEPENDENCE CONVICT HILLSTOUT--[TEXAS]

    Cheers and good day

I am on buzz island right now. It's been cold with thunderstorms and lots of BIG rain drops and thunder with some lightning. Perfect time to break out those stouts. First up was Stone's Cherry Chocolate Stout. Then, an Old Australian Stout. I am feel'n good, and all while hooking up my new washing machine. Even ran a new drainline, moved things around and installing a garage sink...and I only cut my thumb so far.

I bought some of the Sumpin' Wild as well and really liked it. Have you ever tried the Hop Stoopid (real name) from Lagunitas ? It's probably my favorite IPA and comes in a 22 oz bottle. Just noticed your from Dayton too. Where's the local place? Belmont party supply maybe? Favorite pub/tavern in Dayton is South Park which has an amazing ever changing selection of craft beers. Love that place !

I've had the Hop Stoopid before and it is a very good beer. I live fairly close to Belmont Party Supply, so it's nice to have that huge selection to choose from so close. I used to go to The Market or Arrow Wine, but I have no need to go anywhere else now. I've never been to, or even heard of South Park before. Where is that located?

Just had Goose Island's Harvest Ale last night and thought it was pretty tasty. Also, I had Magic Hat's Octoberfest and was pleased with that as well. Nothin better than football season and Fall beers!

That can depend on the lass, which can also depend on how much you've been served. I've seen a "Loch Ness" or two serving and bartending. It's not a pretty sight

I tried an Innis and Gunn beer a couple months ago, and I found a new favourite. A Scottish beer that is aged for at least a month (depending on the type) in oak casks--mmmmmmmmmmmmm. The blonde is crisp and refreshing, the regular is complex and smooth, and they have a dark, that is aged in rum casks which is, from which no light or sobriety can escape.

Finally getting mobile so I can try some German beer. The only German beer in the shopette on post is first imported into the US then shipped back to here. No thanks. It was a great experience wandering through the local distributor and picking out some beer. Two of my favorites were weltenburger kloster barock dunkel and Kulmbacher M?nchshof Schwarzbier. I did see them imported to some cities in the US. If you like dark beer, I enthusiastically recommend these two.

Beer is served with everything here too, which is nice. We were picking out floor tiles for our new house this morning at about 1100 and the ownere comes out with a couple of local lagers. Shopping at its finest!
