The cat was, and is alive and well. He was/is not ours; we cat sat him for three years for our son's girlfriend while her living situation (dorm) precluded keeping him. She's now in law school and in a pet-friendly apt; he is reunited (and it feels so good)! :-)

"He" is Harpo teh kitteh, by the way. Here's a better picture of him; he's a piece of work.

for a more formal and more recent portrait, see: http://icouldbeahero.blogspot.com/2011/08/21.html

Mrs H very kindly donated the living room to me some years back. The Quads live behind my chair but do get dragged out, charged up, and enjoyed on occasion. I do not have their little legs; I shim them with plywood to aim the extremely directional tweeter panels (15 degree vertical coverage!) at the chair when listening. They are astonishing loudspeakers within their limitations (low efficiency and low power handling capacity). Everyone who is serious about hifi should have a pair, or at least spend some quality time listening to a pair.

That's a University 6201 12" coaxial, in its day it was reputed to be the single biggest selling speaker drivers. It's not the worst sounding coax I've ever heard... but it may be on the list :-P Actually they're perfectly OK, but there are better ones as well.
