when I get mine I am going to turn them a bit on a lathe then dip the points in silver...safety first when you listen with F1....actually I wanna pierce through the carpet into the sub-floor.

You might want to go 100% silver on at least one of them.

Now we know why F1 hates silver speaker wires.

Got mine on Tuesday, actually had to sign for them too.

Glad I am not the only one they threw some candy to, too
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Got mine yesterday, candy and all :-)

    Great work, Mark!
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

For those of you that have not tried putting anything under their CDP/SACD player take three of these and put them upside down under the player and report back, "if you want" put some under your amp as well, I put four under my amp just because of the weight..

If you try this please report back...

What's a CDP/SACD player? Is that like a cassette deck?

OK, I tried doing what you suggested.

Now my CDP is tilted over to one side, and it does not sound any better at all.

Maybe I need help with the placement of the cones?

Seriously, I am liking the idea of trying this, I am glad I ordered an extra set of 8 (even though I didn't actually need 2 sets... for now)

Try some brass weights on top of your CDP...not under it. Mapleshade sells them but so do some other cheaper companies. I'm a big fan of isolation, resonance control, decoupling and weight on equipment, specifically CDP's. Not necessarily in that order, or all at once but the theory.

Also check out Bright Star Audio....been using them exclusively since 2005.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

On top?? That is the first I have heard of that, how does that help?? The nice thing is decoupling and isolation doesn't have to be expensive and the out come is fantastic..

It's the most undampened piece of the chassis on almost any piece of equipment. The sides are clamped with screws, the bottom has the weight of the internal components on it, so the initial burst of energy or vibration is into the top plate, which will transfer that energy back down into the component, sled assembly, etc etc. You can stop, absorb or limit all of that with weights or a panel on top of the CDP. Just put a finger lightly on top of your player when it spools up to play....

I use a BSA Little Rock on all my CDP's...works wonders.

I gotcha, Larry, I was just in a joking mood yesterday.

I am going to try this and see what it does, you think a set between the amp and pre would be worth trying? I got enough extras to do 2 pieces.

It will be about two weeks according to his email. That's to fill the backorders. They must have gotten slammed with orders.

Sorry for the delay on the brass speaker feet. I was told by our
supplier that he could deliver in 10-14 days. We will ship asap.

    Regards,
    Mark

Just got an email from Mark at Meniscus Audio and these are available again. I just ordered my set a few minutes ago

Anyone know what difference there is between the Meniscus ones and these ones (besides the obvious color difference)?

$7 more plus shipping, which from past experience, will probably be atleast $6-8. Get the group buy at $22 shipped, no brainer to me.

The coupon code for free shipping is "Polkme"

The PE spikes can break with a heavy speaker. I wouldn't recommend PE's spikes with anything larger than a 2B.

Yeah, I have 2 sets from the first run . One set already installed on my LSi 15's, the other set will be installed on some custom granite stands I will have fabricated in a month or so. I was just curious as their color looks more in line with the LSi 15 bases.

Gotcha, but I think the LSi 15's are lighter than the 2b's, but its still good to know.

I didn't realize you already had the group buy sets. I'd go with what FACE says, but if you aren't moving them more than once or twice maybe it's not an issue.

No worries. Yeah I think I might just keep these ones then. Brass doesnt look bad, and if I get custom granite risers built for the LSi's I will just take the spikes off them, and put them on the risers so you wont really see them that much.

I just ordered 4 more sets - kudos to the suggestion to try using them for isolation of components, not just speakers. Definitely going to give that a try.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
