After buying a ML stage center and deciding the receiver wont power it proper I decided to hook up my emotiva up5 channel .Well none of the terminals bar 1 accept my MIT banana's and it seems like the holes are defected and I snapped my speaker wire trying to fore it in .During the process one of the binding posts just came right off the amp ? I swear it was if it was made of cardboard the way it just crumbled .I have never even used this amp longer than 4 hours since I bought it and previously had it hooked up with bare wire

Well I just got off the phone with emo (nice guys) but no soluotion given and they close in 7 minutes so I gotta call back tommorow to speak with a tech to find a solution .The rep told me to use spades because bananas dont really enhance performance and its just for ease of use ? I said thats gona cost me an extra $125 dollars but he then said he would send me some spades but mit spades only work with mit cables

The rep told me this has never happened one time but its happening to me right now .Only 3 terminals fit a banana plug and the rest wont even let me put the bananas in just a little .

Hopefully thats what they will do tomorrow when I call back but I get the feeling its gona cost me about $60 shipping. Its kinda sucky because I dont really see it as a user fault and more of a bad QC control issue but I shall wait patiently and find out everything tomorrow

Yep I was just asking about L/R rca then this happened

But to be fair I was not forcing it too hard I was just being firm and I am not the type of guy with a strong handshake .Nearly every connection wont accept the banana plugs, its like they are all too small and I even try'd various bananas but with no luck

I hate to be an ****, but I have to ask, what part of the post did you try pushing the banana into ?

I only ask because I don't think I ever heard of someone snapping a post on an amp. Stripping a post, sure, bending a post...yep, but not snapping it off from trying to connect a banana plug.

Since you previously had a bare wire connection, you obviously saw the hole on the post of the amp, tell me for my own satisfaction that you didn't try pushing a banana plug into that hole on the post. I know I'm making a stretch of an assumption here, but just trying to figure out how you did this in my own mind.
    If I'm wrong,then I apologize in advance.

I've had some tight RCA connections with locking
RCA connections. But bananas? Loose, but never too tight
to seat. Something really wrong there. I take it no problems
using the nanners with your receiver? Sounds like the posts
provided by EMO were maybe of lesser Chinese specs?

does emo use those plastic plugs on their binding posts for european sales that you have to remove before you insert banana plugs? its there because their electrical plugs look like banana plugs.

I will do just that, I will have to get my camera

To answer the rest of your questions I do know where to put a banana plug and yes I have used the MIT's for quite some time now on other speakers and both receivers that I have. I used them on the tube amp and have never encountered a single prob until now . Like I said previously, I'm a little fellow with skinny fingers so I never muscled this plug in and I cant even get these naners to go in the rest of the binding posts .It seems like all the holes are too small. I bought this amp brand spanking and its just sat under the rack for months

When I first bought this I used mono price bare wire just to make sure the product was in tip top .After getting the full martin logan rig finished I decided to watch source code and fire up the amp in some 2 channel spotify before hand and this happened

PFB....you seem to be ignoring the direct questions of what you did to break your amp. Good luck getting it fixed though.

Sorry I thought I answered the question . What I did was put my banana plug into the back of the amp and it snapped right off

I had to unscrew the banana plug and put the pin into the side of the binding post .Only 3 of the 10 binding posts will accept the banana termination and every other hole is too tight . I really needed to take some of the load of the receiver so I had to hook it up like the pic in the previous post

Are the amp posts on those Emo's cast pieces? If so that looks like a stress fracture to me, like the metals used weren't cast properly, there could be others defective like that out there

I hope the company comes through for ya PFB, I'm sure they will. So that banana plug is still in that post? You might want to think about leaving it there until you hear back from Emotiva, they might need to see it like that for various reasons. Just a thought.

I know they might but at the same time its needed in my rig because I dont have any other secure terminations for the MIT's

I dont think I will be ditching the MIT's pearsal as I kinda like having them for listening to audio but thanks for the suggestion
