Messiah... I didn't say there was. I'm just pointing out that railing against a particular issue shouldn't just come down to party lines. Which it ALWAYS seems to do. Have your convictions. Great. I just hate it when it's so obviously a stab at either political party. I think Brett did a great job of illustrating the hypocrisy of bringing either the Dems or Republicans to the table in this discussion.

They both suck for different reasons. The 2 party system is broken. I have my own ideas on how to fix it, but that's a different post for a different thread.

You have been programmed to be ashamed of our society, our Country---instead of the great pride we should have in our accomplishments; and THAT is a crime. I'm a red-blooded American loyalist, and I'm looked upon as being a paranoid, gun-toten' redneck--see what I mean. I wear the title PROUDLY baby.

Glad someone brought up the party structure.... The Dems and Repubs are NOT the same party they were 40 years ago. They have both been corrupted by PROGRESSIVES! The D and the R mean nothing anymore as they are just Bud and Bud Light these days, and neither side cares about the Constitution. They are working hand in hand to bring about the total transformation of this country into another socialist state ready to join the New World Order. I don't believe for a second that Conservatives(Democrat or Republican) want to see that happen, therefore we get labled and paranoid extremists wearing tinfoil hats as has happened in this very thread. Conservatism is in the acendency at the moment, and all I can ask of those that support these cameras is to look at the organizations that want them.... I have, and that list reads like a who's who list of anti-capitalist/anti-American goups that would make Pravda proud! The scary part is that almost every one of these groups recieves "donations" from one man!

...and, IMO the 2 party system is NOT broken---the people occupying the positions are. You'll never find a party that you agree with 100% of the time, people need to get over it. When you introduce a 3rd party, you could potentially have a President that was not voted in by the majority---not good.

The people occupying the positions are "broken" because of the way the systems have evolved. The only people who vote in primaries are the hardcore party members (for the most part), so you have candidates who have to pander to the far ends of the spectrum, and then when the general election comes around they have to turn around and pander to the moderates. I have to believe that the majority of voters, left to their own devices, would be towards the moderate sides, but the people choosing candidates are the ones who find Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton appealing.

If voting, especially in primaries, were more widespread, and attitudes towards parties changed, the two-party system would be fine. But it's not right now, and it has nothing to do with candidates, but with which candidates are chosen.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

The 2 party system, and the 2-party mentality that goes with it, is broken. Back and forth we go between the 2 parties every election cycle, and nothing gets accomplished. Healthcare, social security, entitlement reform, EDUCATION, financial sector reform, illegal immigration, border control, energy policy, and on, and on, and on...

    3) The discussion of politics and religion is irrelevant to good audio and is, therefore, not allowed on this forum.

Also, rule #5 has been broken a few times already.
