    I can agree with that!

I'm just thankful for not getting a ticket

At first I thought he pulled me over because my stereo was loud (not the overwhelming bass-loud, just loud in general), or my exhaust (I don't have a muffler, I run straight pipe). I had somewhere to go, while he insisted in asking about me (I'm living in CA with an IL driver's license) and so forth.

Welcome to my home-state! Yes on 19! (Moderator: don't ban me bro).

Only one I rode was the SV650 which apparently is a bit similar (handling wise) to the Fazer (which was built around the older R6).

Compared to the CBR F4i I had, it didn't have as much torque but proved to be a great commuter. My friend let me borrow his a few times while I had work done on mine and I found myself making less stops to stretch my back because of the slightly more upright seating position. It's a great commuter compared to a standard sportbike, while maintaining that sporty look and power. Not to mention it's very beginner-friendly if you're just getting into sportbikes. However, if you're an experienced rider...you'll definitely want more power. I went from a CBR F4i to a Kawasaki ZX9R after having the CBR just over a year.

Edit: Btw, the SV650 has a v-twin. Don't expect to run it hard if it gets fairly hot around where you live!

I'm looking for something that would make a good commuter/tourer, but still be quick, light, and easy to flick. The vstrom is the one I'm the most interested in right now;i t has the same vtwin and transmission as the sv, but it sits even more upright and is supposed to be better on highways/ long hauls.

FYI, either way it'll be the biggest bike I've owned; I've spent a lot of time on mopeds, 250's etc, so I'm not lookin' to go any more powerful quite yet.

    I bet that ZX9R can MOVE!

In that regard, I doubt the Vstrom would be a slouch. Like I said, I liked the SV650 for commuting due to it's more upright seating position. If the Vstrom's position is the same if not even more, then you won't find yourself wanting to get off every hour or so to stretch.

And yeah, the 9R was quick. Took it on the I-5 a few times past 160mph, boy was that fun!

    I'd LOVE a twin-turbo'd Supra, or a Subaru 22B.

Lately though, I've been having the urge to get an SRT-4 later down the road. I'm liking what the 2.4ltr engine can put out and its potential. I've got a PT Cruiser GT now...sold the bikes after I got married :frown:

Least I've got leather+sun/moonroof+all options on my GT

Nice.... and BTW, my Supra was NA! No turbo! 3.0L inline 6; the twin turbo had a V6. I have heard that putting a single turbo on the inline 6 Supras generates a lot more power than the twin turbos.

Nice, I've always liked their engines. In highschool, I was lucky enough to get a 7MGTE engine from a friend after he wrecked his ('92 I think it was) Supra. His dad later got him an Impreza or RS so he let me have the engine. Had it swapped for the crappy inline 6 that was my '88 Toyota Cressida (my first car)

The butcher. Supposedly hormone free beef. I make it without Nitrates. That stuff allows you to dry it less, and supposedly last longer, but it never lasts long enough anyway. It gets all gobbled up and stuff. Nitrates just aren't good for you.
