My third brake light was out (the top center one) so he let me go with a warning.

Showed up at Autozone afterward to pick some replacement bulbs and after talking to the girl there, she said just recently like 6 other people showed up for the same thing. Thing is, they all got fix-it tickets

    Guess I lucked out

Talk about a chicken-**** ticket! Law is all vehicles made after 1993 must have a third brake light per the DOT. Its a great excuse to pull people over.

    Lol

Think you took it the wrong way.

My car does have the top brake light installed (it's a 2003), it's just the little light bulbs burned out. Amazing how I JUST checked to make sure all of them worked just 3-4 weeks ago after I had waxed it. It's the little things like that which can be prevented or found before someone else (such as a cop in this case) find out for you!

Every week I step out to make sure both headlights are working, can't believe how many people out here have a missing headlight.

My point was that its a BS reason for getting pulled over if your other brake lights are working.

    I can agree with that!

I'm just thankful for not getting a ticket

At first I thought he pulled me over because my stereo was loud (not the overwhelming bass-loud, just loud in general), or my exhaust (I don't have a muffler, I run straight pipe). I had somewhere to go, while he insisted in asking about me (I'm living in CA with an IL driver's license) and so forth.
