    Sorry to hear this.
I hope somebody else shoots them while they try to mug and rob another.

I believe in karma to so I believe their going to suffer or already have alot more than you have.

    I'm also glad your alive.

I to was confronted in DC and almost had one leg broken and a broken bottle put inches away from my face. He let me leave for some reason..
I thanked God for my life all the way home and for days on end after that night.
If I had a gun in my car, he might have been shot in the face and killed, and I probably would've had to spend 20 yrs. for killing a punk....
    that would've sucked!!

I hope your robbers get caught and spend the rest of their lives locked up.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I remember as a kid you could leave your doors unlocked, keys in your car or go for a stroll through the park at midnight without a care in the world.

Suppose it depends where you are. You can still do all that where I am, although it does seem like a good idea to lock the doors while sleeping.

Joe, sorry to hear about this happening. Although maybe next time someone pulls a gun, you should just hand it over. Glad you survived.

bro, just read this. the whole time reading the opening post i was just HOPING that "equalizer" = glock!

wow, didn't realize this was already 4 pages long.

oh, and you'd better edit your post to describe the assailants as "two persons" and don't call out a race, age, religion or gender. it's a p.c. thing. f**k p.c.

WOW Joe! I am so glad that you were able to avert a real tragedy. You're alive and will live on to tell about it for many years. Sometimes it's not worth being a tough guy.

I hope the thugs have the same thing comming to them.

Sorry to hear this Joe. People suck!!!! If it was me I would have ran there asses over, or took the gun out of the poor excuse for a person's hand. It's not that hard to do, and it is even easier to turn it around in their hand so it is pointing back at them. Yeah, I know kind of late now. If you are ever in that situation again and decide to go for the gun, try not to look at the gun, or the person, keep your head looking down as to not give them any inclination as to what you are about to do. That said, Get well soon man. I hate to see or hear about others in pain. Could you do me one favor? Place a metal pipe between your door and seat in your car. Best wishes to you.

Yep, when I was 18 a guy pulled a gun on me and I rushed him and bowled him over but got shot through my triceps muscle and through my arm pit. I won't be doing again that anytime soon.

While I appreciate your sentiment Dude, Shawn's dead on right, that's how people get killed. I was lucky once, I'm not tempting fate again. When I realized there was a gun I froze and let them have their way to a certain extent. It's only money and that can be replaced, I can't!

I'm feeling a lot better this today. My lips and the gash are almost back to normal and my jaw doesn't hurt anywhere near like it did. I can close my mouth now (I know there lot's here who are glad of that LOL!) and move my jaw and can eat now with just a little pain. Funny thing though, my ear is still hurting pretty bad.

The great news is I haven't felt the need to take any pain meds today, not even Tylenol, so far!

Thanks to everyone for their concern and well wishes. . .

. . . and to think people say CP isn't like family! LOL!

BTW; lots of undercover police activity around this area yesterday and today. I guess when a gun is involved they definitely don't mess around.

Good to hear you are feeling better Joe and you can go without the pain and/or pain meds (except the ear). Hopefully by tomorrow that will be gone too.

Somsofbeeches, I've been up since 3:00 AM with severe jaw and ear pain and my jaw is twisted to the left. It's the only position where the pain isn't as severe.

Last night around dusk , I was at the WAWA down the street from the three strip malls that have been affected by the rash of debit card problems. I noticed three hooligans roaming the store but in full view of the four ATMs. A customer took out, what looked like a wad of 20s to me, and two of the hoods followed him out and followed him in a vehicle while the other quick flipped to his cell phone and made a call. My guess . . . AMBUSH and they've been staking out that WAWA since the stores started posting the warnings about debit cards. I quick flagged down a County Police cruiser (which isn't difficult cause they are all over that WAWA store) and told him who I was and what I saw . . . he got on his radio and peeled out of the parking lot with his lights going.

My street smart sensors told me that what happened to me was no "wrong place at wrong time" and I think I saw the evidence of it. I did recognize the three and have seen them around and I'll bet the two that ambushed me were in a car in one of the three lots waiting for a call from the creeps in the car for the soon-to-be victim's destination.

I won't be the least bit surprised if I get a call from the police later this morning asking me to go in to try ID the bad guys.

This makes me sick. I can't imagine the range of emotions you must have had both during and after the mugging. While it was terrible and I wouldn't wish what happened to you on anyone, I am glad that it wasn't even worse. Best wishes for a full recovery both mentally and physically.

Man, that's jacked up. They really caught you off guard... that's a situation that no one wants. Something like this happened here yesterday. Someone was stopped at a red light with their window down and this dude just comes up and knocks him the hell out.

This is why my 1911 is strapped to my hip whenever I leave home (unfortunately it has to sit in the car while I'm in class). There are some crazies out there.

Working for Time Warner Cable back in the mid 90's I would have to work in Youngstown Ohio.

First thing they told me: Lock your car doors. Second always keep a throw wallet with $20-30 in it. If you get mugged just give them the throw wallet. They only need their next fix.

Fortunately never had to use it.

Damn Joe!!! Sorry to hear that happened to you. Its one of my ingrained fears when I'm out and about, esp at night. Sometimes I keep thinking I'm just overly paranoid, but I keep hearing about sh&t like this....
I hope your pain subsides soon--nothing like having a constant reminder when you just want to move on.

Now there's a great idea! I wish I would have thought of that before this happened but who the hell expected anything like this!?! This area was fine 5 years ago when we moved in. It changed over the past year and has become "crack central" because the cops booted the dealers from Wilmington and they migrated down here.

I can't wait for a clean up here. Those dealers are stubborn. They get busted serve 9 to 14 months, get out on probation and just continue like they never got busted.

It's pretty sad when one is in their 20s and all they know how to do is deal drugs.

Well unfortunately this is old hat to me as in my youth I used to get into all kinds of messes. However, at 55 it seems to hurt more and take longer to heal. One thing that I can think of on the positive side, I bet those two creeps **** themselves when they saw that three blows to the face and four to the body with a weapon didn't stop this old rooster until I felt that cold barrel against my head and heard "Click." Maybe they'll think twice next time or on the down side they may just shoot first . . . but I don't think that is their intention but accidents happened.
