Yeah, Delaware...the armpit of society.
Been attacked before, get over it. If you let it consume you, just give up.
???
and Joe sorry to hear about everything and I hope your OK. That is totally crap what happened and I hope they find the ****...
hope you feel fast and have a quick recovery and are in not too much pain. -
That's what happens to people that have more posts than Doro. Let that be a lesson for ya!:p;):D
Glad you are ok bro. I hope they find the **** before you do.Been attacked before, get over it. If you let it consume you, just give up.

Glad to hear your still alive Joe, if it happens again dont fight and have 40-50 bucks easily accesible to give them so they will go away quickly without taking all your cash. Dont bring a club to a gun fight it's a sure way to get killed.
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
one word: KARMA! the lowlifes will get theirs, likely from their "friends" they hang out with, too.
Get better soon, Joe, both physically and mentally. It is good to hear you are already healing. -
Damn, you are a tough old dude
Doro has the best advice. Don't dwell on it. As much as it sucks, its going to suck worse letting it eat you up.
Hopefully you're injuries are going to heal up soon. (And carry around debit cards!)

Yeah, what they said and LOCK YOUR DOORS!
My keys are the last thing I snag before I leave the car. If they stay in the ignition, it's a quick and easy motion to get the vehicle started and moving again. Not only do you then have a means of rapid escape but, if need be, a 2 ton death machine.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you! -
I do the evening shopping alot and live in Los Angeles. Your story cautions me to stay aware of my surroundings. There are a-holes lurking everywhere, and in these tough econimic times, there is more potential for problems. Glad you are alright, and glad that you reported it to the PD. They may already have an MO on these guys, and you're reporting it may help them find the culprits.

Once again, I hope it's not real, Joe.
But if it's real, I wonder why you can't start the engine and just chase down a **** and run him over. I guess it might have been a good Karma for them.
It's in the parking lot, you says?Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -
WTF!!! Glad your OK Joe.. I would have ran them over if I could have. Really what the hell is wrong with people..

Damit John! I am thinking the same thing! You posted a minute earlier while I was typing the same thing!Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -
Damn! I'm glad to hear that you are fairly OK. That's crazy. What shopping center were you at? In Newark?
Brookside. -
Glad to hear you are OK man. That could've gone terribly bad. Where was your CCW?
Nah, no CCW's, I have a very inteligent, inquisative 13 year old who could probably crack a CCW safe. Bats, Rambo Knife, lead pipe is all we can allow in the house or car to keep that rug rat from hurting himself. -
Oh, when you said equalizer I thought you meant "gun." My bad. I've been held-up twice in my life, it's NOT fun. Some say you have bad luck; I beg to differ in this situation.

Sorry to hear that Joe, glad you're in one piece and still among the living. Not to turn this into preaching, but why on earth would you carry that much cash around with you? That's what banks are for and debit cards, checks. etc.
I really am sorry this happened. You're luck was changing a little, hope you can still make Polkfest.

I'm a victim of circumstances Brock (Hey I just quoted Curely)! Our bank as well as the stores (they have big signs up) we go to have warned us and others that there has been a breakout rash of debit/visa cards somehow getting compromised and they've been able to narrow it down to three shopping centers in my area and recommend NOT using cards until things settle down. Having had my checking account compromised twice in the past year I felt it safer to carry the cash as most people don't bother with me.
I guess the crooks (probably crack heads) got wind of this information and know that people are more inclined to carry cash for a while.
Normally Brock, I don't carry more than ten bucks in my pocket and debit everything. -
I am glad you're ok Joe. That's a effin terrible thing to happen to you.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I guess it's a sign of the times................and dark times it can be once in awhile.
Take care

Man Joe...That's terrible. I had some close calls when I lived in Manhattan but you're in Delaware? Still no excuse for such abuse. I can't believe you maintained your composure through all that. I think I would've been shot, myself?
I know losing money you need in the current economic climate is no fun...but at least you walked away! Thank God! Get well buddy....we don't want to miss you in N.J.
If there is ANYTHING 'we' can do to help your recovery please drop us a PM?
Get some rest, and heal.
P.S. What is the 'equalizer'? A baseball bat?

Nope, you know those clubs they sell to lock the steering wheel of a car, well it's not illegal to have one in your car and let me tell you the thing is nice and heavy for cracking assclown heads and has a hook and a fork on it so you snag a guy around the head, arm etc or use the fork part in the front to get him a distanced choke hold. -
Glad you are ok bud. people like that deserve all they get. Karma Baby.Michael

Yikes.
I have a lot of experience with firearms, that "click" was the hammer being cocked. Besides these young "gangsters" around here are really just punks and wanabees. You hear a lot about crimes with guns around here but I can't remember one time in the past five years I've been living here where some wannabe actually killed someone with a gun. -
damn Joe, you had a gun to your head held by people i assume have little value of life......your still breathin. I'm still trying to find the "bad" luck in that bro.
that said, reaching for the pipe in that scenario sounded like a fail. if there is a gun, and your going to do something (which is not often the right move from jump street) your only move is to go for the weapon. if it is out of reach, you are screwed. hand them money and hope for the best.
if I was going to go another route, the only thing i can think is the gas pedal.......mash it and duck. depending on the logistics that can not work out well, but i will say it is infinitely better than reaching (p.s. a weapon you have to "reach" for in that case is useless in that situation anyway)

Hope you recover quickly from your injuries. And, like it's been said, don't dwell too much other than to be more careful.
-
Joe, I am sorry to hear! But I also hope that it didn't happen to you for real.
Please tell me it's a joke. If it's not, you have a reason to celebrate for staying alive.
No joke Bro. I have all the wounds and moth's flying out of my pocket.
Hey man, I'm just glad the punks didn' shot. I've taken a lot worse beatings in my life and I'm not emotionally affected except for the fact to be more careful as my neighborhood seems to be turning. -
Yeah, Delaware...the armpit of society.

Nah, I'm just taking it stride and like I said, "just going to be more careful.
Mark, let me guess you were attacked in Wilmington right? Now that wouldn't suprise me at all. -
Wow, Glad you are ok. That sounds like it could have gone a whole different way.
It would have been sad to read your wife giving an obit for you here.
Money and an EQ can be replaced. I think each of us is irreplaceable. Except maybe the two scumbags that held you up???
Also being named Joe, I am sure you are still quite angry. Just try to relax. Tell yourself that they aren't worth your life.... -

Well by the time I cleared my head of the cob webs and gunned the car after them, they were already on the grass and disappearing into a wooded area. Trust me I thought about jumping the curb onto the grass and running them down but then I though, hmmmm scared punks, pist off big guy after them with car, turn around and empty the gun. . . I noted their location and went home. -

Hey Joe, Italian/Sicilian and all I'm not angry at all. I just am bugged about the loss of the moola because we are just now starting to get back on our feet.
