UPS claim on audio quality, sincerely wish U all the luck in the world on a claim like that.
I'd try anyway. Shipper might have to make the claim cause they took out the insurance on the packages. -

All the speakers popping or can U isolate the popping to one or two individual speakers.
Was looking for this forever "i (Bi Wired) the Monitor 50 and OMG did they sound awesome."ZeroCoolPolks wrote: »UPS claim on audio quality, sincerely wish U all the luck in the world on a claim like that.
i did not pull the speakers apart yet. that is for tonight when i get home.
i filed a claim with UPS last night. ill post the updates from it.mole' -
You have zero evidence of shipping damage. Hell, you don't even know what the problem is. I'm at a total loss as to why you filed a claim.Political Correctness'.........defined

i was sent 3 boxes. i with a CS2 which the box was in great shape when i got it. then i got 2 Monitor 70s each in its own oringal box. both of them were beat up and the foam inside was all smashed up and broken. i asked grimmace19 if this was how he shipped them and he said no. he said the foam was in good shape as were the boxes.
i just got home 15 minutes ago and im gonna play with the speakers tonight and see what i find out.
and just so you know i have not asked grimmace19 for any of the $$$ back from this deal and i did not know that he had insurance on them until i asked after i heard the popping noise. im in no way trying to make $$$ off of this deal if thats what your thinking. in not disreguard my last statement.
i just want a set of working none popping Monitor 70s.mole' -
Nope, that never crossed my mind.
I do know how UPS claims works and if there is no obvious external damage to the speakers, they will deny it.Political Correctness'.........defined

they do act fast. i filed the claim last night and they came today to look at the packing/boxes they were in. so ill have them ready tomorrow to be picked up and inspected by UPS.mole' -
Well, I hope you get what you want, but I have my doubts.Political Correctness'.........defined

any advise on the UPS stuff?
if they dont cover it them ill just have to see about taking them to the Polk Refurb shop or sell them "as is" and get some SDAs im looking atmole' -
Removing the grills and doing a pillow test,
is not exactly "pulling the speakers apart"
It's simple to remove the grills only. -

i opened them up toomole' -
this is what i found
i did the pillow test
the bottom speakers on both were not as loud.
on Left speaker the bottom 2 sub were making the weird sounds pop.
on the right speaker it was the bottom 3.
on the right speaker, the screws were loose and there is no white cotton like material in the box like there was in the left box. i checked the wires and all were hooked up. i did notice that the date on the back of the sub were different. some were from aug 2009 and the others were from aug 2007. parts #s were all the same tho.
speaker were boxes up and waiting for UPS to pick them up today.
any input to this?
and after i played with the speakers. noise was still there on the left. no change
but the right one sounded like it got louder.......mole' -
any input to this?
If grim was the original owner, it would seem that he or someone he authorized has been inside at least the right speaker.Political Correctness'.........defined

im unsure if he was the original owner of them. i made sure i put the speakers all back in the same way. took my time as not to mess them up more.mole' -
I was the original owner and never took them apart. Seems very strange but maybe this is part of the mystery surrounding why and how newegg continued to have these stocked for so damn long. Maybe they are basically odds and ends that polk threw together.

is that where you got them from?mole' -
If grim is the original owner let him submit a warranty claim to Polk 4 U
if it's under 5 years & it must be if they are from Egg.
I've sold used speakers and back them to mauf.'s warranty, but that's me:)
Wonder if it's the speakers or the elec. crossovers causing the popping.???
What the " " does UPS have to pick them for in the first place ?????? They saw them.
I wouldn't let UPS take them anywhere without a check in my hand.
Be sure to get a receipt from UPS for both M70's when they pick them up or they'll conveniently loose them, Hope not.
Maybe U meant UPS inspects them where your at. -

when i talked to Polk CS they said if i got the speakers used that the warranty would no longer be good. would be cool if Grim could hook that up but it might be more of a hassle than anything.
yes UPS did pick them up and they gave me a receipt for them. the guy said they wanted to look as to how they were packed and such. you can tell the box was messed up and the middle and top foam on both were all messed up. so if UPS takes care of this than ill be happy. i can get them repaired from the Polk Refurb place in Vista. if its gonna be too much ill just look for some used ones and sell these "AS-IS"mole' -
The original owner could do the warranty with Polk.
