I haven't had specifically a single bad beer, but I drank a whole sampler set in one sitting and the mix of all the different kinds of beers in my stomach didn't feel good...

HAHA, I had never heard of this until last weekend. I was at a bachelor party and everyone was drinking it! We went through three cases. Hilarious.

Had a beer in Beijing a couple years ago that smelled like sewage overflow and road kill possum. Tasted like death sweat. Hands down, the worst beer in my life, and I've had some bad beer.

Over the last several years, the explosion of micro-breweries has produced some really fine beers, but also some that are genuinely offensive.

I went to a beer-tasting dinner at my favorite local tavern several months ago that was based around Lagunitas varieties. I think there were 14 different ones, including a couple that haven't been offered to the public at large- I poured out every single one.

2 weeks ago, I was in Burlington and got hijacked (by a business associate who was driving the rental car) into a trip to the Magic Hat brewery. I think I tried 6 different beers, which ranged from very, very bad to absolutely abominable. There was one that they proudly announced had 500 lbs of blueberries in every batch. Whoever was responsible for coming up with that vile mess deserves to be chained to the back bumper of a truck and dragged up and down Shelburne Street.

beer snob here ;) I prefer a nice hoppy Ipa, but the best beer is one you made yourself. you can tweak the recipes to your taste. here's a 12 gallon batch of an imperial nut brown I made last night.

+1 on Heinekens, but the all time worst I ever ran across was Brown Derby, the beer that left a bunch of Ohio rednecks and my dog puking. Gawd, what a horrible experience.

Do they even make it anymore?

Agreed and it gives you the worst hangover no matter how little of it you drink.

Back in the mid '90 I was an LAFA football coach. After the season was over we had a coaches night out and they served Heineken pitchers from the tap. Back then it was nothing for me to down 5 or 6 pitchers but because it was skunk **** tasting I only had three glasses. The next day I had THE worst hangover shakes and all. They must use some nasty chemicals in it.

It was called Molson Canadian. Tasted like piss.

You must hate hockey too;), we drink Molson all the time I love it

Also Labatte blue is a beer I originally hated, but we got some when we went to Canada and its a completely different beer, any friend who goes to Canada is now obligated to buy a case. I thought they would be made in same brewery but I guess not
Out of Pittsburgh- Iron City beer . . . UGH! Just the thought of it gives me a hangover.

Agreed. Gives us Pittsburghers a bad rep , definitely one of the worst I've had

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Back when I drank......Budweiser, bar none, is the worst beer ever made. Iron City is number 2.

Sitting in an English pub downing a pint of best bitter at room temp......it doesn't get any better.

LOL! :D So what you're trying to say is that you prefer a brew that tastes like MIT Shotguns? Smooth, detailed, full bodied and musical.

    Ever had a bad beer?
Sure have, anything that's called a "beer" sucks...Bud, Coor's, Corona...etc. Now, Ales, IPA's, Porters, Stouts, Pale Ales, pretty much anything Belgian on the other hand, haven't had a bad one yet.

I love the people that said Old Style or Hamms. I've been to some bars that serve that in bigger cities as " old school night" yet its still like 4 bucks for a can of Hamms when I can get a case for 20.

BTW not really a beer persay as its more of a malt but Steel Reserve. Nasty nasty stuff. 4 bucks for 4 16oz cans. first time I had the stuff I had to shotgun it and it was not good......

Over the years I have really been looking for "THE ONE" beer. Today I realized that mood, food , time , place , season dictates what beer I'm gonna drink.

Summer, Corona with lime. This is the perfect hot weather beer for chilin on the beach , on the deck , in the back yard , at a picnic , etc. Excellent choice and goes with just about all picnic type foods.

Fall , winter and into spring , Guinness and Smithwicks. Irish beers at their best. Smooth and full taste. These 2 are really my favorite beers which I can drink in the summer in very limited amounts.

Samuel Adams makes seasonal beers which all are excellent except the Nobel Hops. I found that beer to be to bitter and lacking good taste. It kinda tastes like they had a bunch of different hops laying around and decided to mix them all together and see what comes out. It't the only S A beer I don't like a lot.

Miller is a good cheap beer if money is an issue and you really want a beer. I can drink it but it's not high on my list. I like it better then Coors.

Light beers mostly suck **** except Amstel and Heineken . Both of these beers are long time favorites.

Am I a beer snob? NO but I don't like cheap beers like Bud or Coors. I can't stand the taste of of **** beers. Some can drink anything and are not picky. I consider myself an elitist.

After going to a beer tasting every Friday evening I've learned I like hoppy IPA's as well. My favorites so far ar Founders Centennial and Double Trouble, and Stone Ruination.

    Terrible list for my tastes:
Bud ICE - cheap, strong, and awful

Any IPA I've tried has been terrible

Arrogant **** - Only comes in 22 oz bottles with a cap saying "you're not worthy" ... tastes like ground up tree bark that a cat took a dump on.

every beer I have ever tried from Great Britian....
I spent 7 months in Suffolk England at R.A.F Mildenhall in the early 80s.
There was a killer little pub about a half mile off the base that I'd visit every morning with some of my detachment.
I'd have a thick black beer out of the barrel and a couple of cups of coffee (loose description of coffee)
The warm black house beer was horrible but it grew on ya over time. That was "breakfast"
Yea, the beer was horrible but part of the "breakfast of champions".

I beg to differ. When ice cold it's clean, crisp, smooth, goes down real easy and you can drink lots and lots of it without getting filled up. Plus no nasty after taste.
