Belly Bomb, and sorry I can't spell boundidi baum correctly. Heck, I don't know IF I'm even pronouncing it right anymore. It's been almost 44 years since I had my first one.
    Anyone else?

    Hahaha, the meaning of 33 on Rolling Rock bottles;

Well, when I did drink, the nastiest thing I ever tasted was Tiger Balm, AKA Tiger PISS. I was a raging alky, and couldn't force that crap down. Had to drink mixed drinks in Singapore, and Kenya.

I beg to differ. When ice cold it's clean, crisp, smooth, goes down real easy and you can drink lots and lots of it without getting filled up. Plus no nasty after taste.

Perhaps you guys don't like the number 33!:p

Agreed. Rolling Rock is my cheap beer of choice. You can drink a metric assload of it without feeling disgusting, and the taste when ICE cold is very good.

Interesting thing about the green bottle: it is actually true that green bottles will allow the beer to skunk badly. It is directly related to allowing more light into the bottle than a brown one. Something about light interacting with the bacteria, IIRC.

Personally, I'm rather partial to Stella Artois, but I only get it when it's on tap, or if I feel like buying a 12 pack, since they are enclosed in such a way as to keep out the light.

Ice beer was bad, but "dry" beers were worse.

Not a fan of light beers either, or scotch ales...

Also, any beer that isn't ice cold............. can't stand warm beer. I would never drink in England.

I would have to agree... Rolling Rock and any Bud beer product are horrible.. they aren't even good enough to be called beer.

Although I wish I owned stock in Budweiser.. every **** in a bar drinks bud. and I'd like a piece of that $ action ;)

Beer has to be super cold for me to enjoy too. or has to be served in a chilled glass in a bar. none of this room temp glasses.

I have been reliving my early days lately and enjoying some Rainier beer. ;)

Perhaps by the time it makes it here....but, some of the best beer I've ever had was right from the tap in the local pub during the 4 years I lived over there. To each his own though.....

I'd have a thick black beer out of the barrel and a couple of cups of coffee (loose description of coffee)
The warm black house beer was horrible but it grew on ya over time. That was "breakfast"

I was back over there a few years ago. Trend is now for chilled beer...at least the pubs my cousin took me to had it that way!

But, worst beer I ever had was when living at home and finishing off the last 2 Heinekens and still wanting another beer I had one of my dad's Stegmaier beers(was a PA local beer in Wilkes-Barre area)....talk about ****! They may be ok if you started with one but not following a decent beer.

    Small world indeed.

I did an install for a previous company at both Lakenheath and Conningsby.

As long as the 'bitter' was fresh and at least drawn 'cool' from the pub cellars - some of the drafts were quite tastey! :D

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat- tastes like Ludens cough drops.
Koch's- cheap **** bear from NY State. Choked it down in college.
Iron City Light- after having the light, no way I'll ever try the high-test
Virgin Islands Brewing Co "Tropical Mango Pale Ale"- I don't know what could possibly have made me think this could be a good combination.

And, the time a buddy from high school's parents went out of town and his dad fixed our wagon. We had a long-standing habit of pinching drafts from his pouting shed tap set-up. Unbeknownst to us, his father had allowed a partial barrel to ripen in the central Pa sunshine for a couple of months, to be installed prior to his departure. Get a bunch of friends together and have a party, right? It quickly became a barf-a-rama. I got queasy for a week with merely the motion of raising my arm to my mouth.

Ludens cough drops are great but as a taste of a beer or ale would be sickening IMHO.

Ah, that I did. Putrid. ;)

I also want to clarify my "Rainier" pick. For those that know this beer, it was a decent 'cheap' beer early on when brewed by the Olympia Brewing Co. But somewhere along the line of company takeovers and different brewers, it's gone to crap. Either that or my taste has improved.

But, then again, I like the taste of Rolling Rock. So who knows. :p

A bad beer? Kind of like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness. I hear they are out there but I haven't found it yet.

If pressed, I would admit to having met one and it was called simply.. Simpatico. It came from south of the border and I was forced to really focus and draw on my training to finish it. I did and grew stronger from the experience. I have yet to drink another and that was 20 years ago.

    Best Beer
Warsteiner at the brewery in Warstein Germany. Just a few hours old. :p

    Worst beer
Warsteiner in a bar in Thailand. The heat and sun makes it taste like carbonated vinegar. Doesn't help if it is in a brown bottle. Thats the problem with Deutsche Reinheits Gebot. No chemicals added. Carlsberg and Heineken can stand opened in the sun for a week and it still taste the same. Wonder what they are adding?

Beer in England isn't "warm" or even "room temperature", it's just not COLD like we serve it in the US. The ideal temperature for beer is supposedly 50-57F.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer "ice cold" most of the time too, but calling beer in England "hot" is just silly.
