You sound like a nice guy, but what do you know about wood? Also, screamingly phenomenal good deal is better English, you know, what with the adverb modifying the adjective and such.

Woodworking is a hobby, I've done some gunstock work with hand rubbed oil finishes and antique lacquer restoration. I've got a pretty good shop that's not professional caliber large cabinet equipment but is a cut above the basic garage shop.

I just built a 2000+ CD rack that turned out pretty decent for simple construction, next is a wall of book shelves for my office.

    sorry about the grammar :)

Woodguru, welcome to CP. As you can see there is littel tolerance for ego or bs. My advice is to chiil out and be a bit humble. You could be talking to someone who knows more than you but is too gracious to say so. Don't take yourself seriously - I guarantee no one else is.

I've got to work on that process of establishing credentials thing, at least I have a sense of humor and can take getting beat up a bit without crying or pouting. :D (mostly)

Do you know how to use multi-quote or are you gonna single post all your responses until you hit 100?

Actually I figured there had to be a better way to do that, I didn't want to try to respond to everyone in mass because it would be too confusing, not to mention subject to misinterpretation.

Do tell, although I'm hoping I can conduct myself in such a way so as to avoid a free for all in the future.

Actually the icon next to the right of the quote button is for multi quoting and there are no reason for confusion as it provides the screen name of your interlocutor. You simply click on it every post you desire to quote. Once you are ready to reply, all of your selected quotes will appear and you simply enter your response text below each of the quotes and after you send your response, everything will fall in order in your post.

Thanks. This is the first time Jesse that I truly wish we didnt have a 100 post rule so we wouldntdt have to put with 38 more posts before he could hawk his gear.

Do you think for one moment or does woody think for one moment that anyone here is going to buy his stuff. He's already displayed his inability to price gear correctly, doesn't have a clue as to what the phrase "mint condition" means, has a twisted view of beating people out of money and thinking it a "cool thing," and last but not least, his after sale service is at best questionable! I didn't make this stuff up. Read his posts, it's all there in glaring black & white for the world to see.

Like I said, humility is your friend, don't forget you are a Noobie to the community's eyes and despite your knowledge, your post count is more important to the overall community. Like many that went through the same pack attack you have to humble your self and let the community slowly know you and accept you.

That right there TK is a load of crap! Post counts don't mean a damned thing except for the member trying to get the required number of posts to hawk his crap which woody has already made clear is his intentions. Another use of post count is for an arrogant cocky newb to use high post counts as a weapon against someone whom he felt has offended or disagreed with him.

    TECHNOKID wrote: »
Yup, woodguru you are coming way too strong as a noobie and you are more likely considered as a threath by the so called top guns here that considered that knowledge and recognition belong to them... HUMBLE your self ;)

Again, as a noobie you must humble your self, there are already a whole slue of acknowledge and respected GURUs on here ;)

There is already extensive exotic cable knowledge on here, woodguru you are not preaching anything new on here ;)

However, shouldn't even noobies allowed to their own opinions? Opinions are subjective not facts, right? ;)

As pointed out, HUMBLE your self, realize that no matter what you are considered a noobie on here. If you realize that and act accordingly you might have some chances to fit in

Boasting and showing off (especially with $$$) will surely not lead you anywhere on here (even if all were to be thrue!). Listen to Snow, he may come across as rough around the edge but his wisdom is still valid ;)

Woodguru, as a noobie, start by listening (reading) more than talking (posting) and learn to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of this community and while (like in anything else) there are some weaknesses you will learn to appreciate its strenghts which surpasses any weaknesses by far and some pointers are in this thread as the community backs up and protect it self (members) from any percieved threaths. This community is also very generous and if you start slowly you might get to appreciate it so slow down a little ;) I recall someone mentionning that when you enter any club-group you shouldn't come across too strongly if you want acceptance so, slowdown and humble your self, you will soon find out it is worth while and pay off!

    Cheers!
    TK

First off woody, pay attention to the advice TK is offering here, he has first hand experience at being ridculed and shunned by the forum collective until he finally "GOT IT!"

One more thing, humility!, isn't even the issue, the issue is he's trying to force himself to fit in by dropping names, dollar figures, knows better than everyone else here all for the sake of good intentions, but alas his ill intentions here thus far are glaring. He wants to sell his crap and is going to try to force it to look like he's making a contribution but is going about it like he's speaking from the mountain tops to all the poor mis/uninformed, unwashed masses.

What,s so surprising? The OP always kept his cool despite the attacks, right? ;) Basically, such-similar threads that were closed in the past were threads were the OPs lost their cool while under attacks, they eventually got banned as a result. There are definitely GURUs at tactics to lead threads down that path but the OP always kept his head and never got caught up in this gimmick ;) It makes for a fine and very entertaining thread

Fear not Pauly, things have changed big time around here. It's just this thread seems to have a relative sense of civility and even the VP has joined in.

You have to admit though this is the first really entertaining thread since the new improved Club Polk has come to pass.

Kudos to those in charge who are letting us have some fun but as you can see your rules/guidelines have been pretty much kept in mind here especially.

Joe, TK is stirring the pot with his veiled, slightly insulting, sarcastic posts. In fact TK adds very little to any discussion lately other than sarcastic, cryptic ramblings.

Hmmm . . . Brock, maybe I should take a step back and reread TKs posts. I do however think his intentions are good as he has learned how this place works thus stopped his high hat spanking of the forum collective he used to do when he first came aboard.

I have to say what you perceive as cryptic ramblings is a fact IIRC English isn't TKs first language. I think he made mention some time ago that he's a French Canadian.
