Knowledge is fine and well...when questions are asked. But you still are coming across with that elitist attitude like you know more than everyone else here!
Like I said, humility is your friend, don't forget you are a Noobie to the community's eyes and despite your knowledge, your post count is more important to the overall community. Like many that went through the same pack attack you have to humble your self and let the community slowly know you and accept you.

Again the I am THE king of knowledge attitude prevails. There are MANY here that "know what they are talking about!"
Just the fact that your screen name suggest you are a GURU isn't the best approach. Fact is that so called GURU title was denied to many on here by new CP ruling. So, for many that might simply be an annoyance and repulsive.

P.S. I have cheap Monster Cables. Can't afford anything better. Can you send me a free set of something better so I can demo them? :p
Better watch what you wish for ;)
Your miscalculation is the essence of this Clubs true membership.

    Good Luck.

    RT1
Yup, woodguru you are coming way too strong as a noobie and you are more likely considered as a threath by the so called top guns here that considered that knowledge and recognition belong to them... HUMBLE your self ;)
You dont get it do you? We as a collective group could care less what your background in audio is, there is no need to provide your audiophile credentials so to speak to us. We dont want nor do we need a new audio guru to lead us unwashed masses out of the darkness and into the light of your audio wisdom. You continue to insinuate that we as a group need this assistance, for example this statement.
Again, as a noobie you must humble your self, there are already a whole slue of acknowledge and respected GURUs on here ;)

You imply that anything we can come up with suggestion wise will be inferior due to your extensive knowledge and yet you say you are attempting to be less condescending? a perfect example of that is in the thread mentioned next.
There is already extensive exotic cable knowledge on here, woodguru you are not preaching anything new on here ;)

You mention a thread where a fellow specifically asked about whether a Pass Labs X-250 or a Parasound amp would be a better fit for his speakers, then you take it upon yourself to make the decision to reccomend something entirely different without even considering or asking him if he had heard the amp you thought was a better fit. He may have heard this amp and hated the sound and then it really doesnt matter if it is a better built amp or not or whether it sounds better to you, that is your oppinion that isnt fact.
However, shouldn't even noobies allowed to their own opinions? Opinions are subjective not facts, right? ;)
Simply try to fit in here as reccomended earlier and stop trying to impress us with your audio knowledge, connections, wealth, etc. Simply put we dont give a rats **** :D If you continue on in this manner you will be the most despised person on CP in short order.
As pointed out, HUMBLE your self, realize that no matter what you are considered a noobie on here. If you realize that and act accordingly you might have some chances to fit in

Boasting and showing off (especially with $$$) will surely not lead you anywhere on here (even if all were to be thrue!). Listen to Snow, he may come across as rough around the edge but his wisdom is still valid ;)

I don't claim to run with the big boys of audio on this board but I know who they are and they didn't have to come out and tell me. They proved it.

    Too threathning? ;)
Ignore is tempting, but the entertainment value may be immense :)
    Agreed :D

Woodguru, as a noobie, start by listening (reading) more than talking (posting) and learn to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of this community and while (like in anything else) there are some weaknesses you will learn to appreciate its strenghts which surpasses any weaknesses by far and some pointers are in this thread as the community backs up and protect it self (members) from any percieved threaths. This community is also very generous and if you start slowly you might get to appreciate it so slow down a little ;) I recall someone mentionning that when you enter any club-group you shouldn't come across too strongly if you want acceptance so, slowdown and humble your self, you will soon find out it is worth while and pay off!

    Cheers!

What,s so surprising? The OP always kept his cool despite the attacks, right? ;) Basically, such-similar threads that were closed in the past were threads were the OPs lost their cool while under attacks, they eventually got banned as a result. There are definitely GURUs at tactics to lead threads down that path but the OP always kept his head and never got caught up in this gimmick ;) It makes for a fine and very entertaining thread

What method would you suggest for scratching your arse in public while in a meeting while holding a hot cup of coffee in one hand and typing on your cell phone with the other hand oh Butt guru?

Perhaps the slide an glide on the chair? or would the wiggle worm side to side method be better under these condiions? :p

    REGARDS SNOW

I would definitely use the side to side here for if you use the slide and glide it may look like you are thrusting to your fellow peer and may get some rather awkward looks...and if it's a woman who catches you, you might be going to court on sexual harassment charges:o
    Amateur:rolleyes:...

You have no technique whatsoever. The art of the proper butt scratch is to find a woman with long fingernails willing to do it FOR you while handing you the remote!:D;) This way you can use your hands for other things like eating or whatever else may come to mind...

This option ends very quickly for me as I am engaged...and if I found a long finger nailed woman to do this, it would be my last butt scratching ever:eek:
However like how there are seeing eye dogs, you could train yourself a scratching butt dog, but stay away from small dogs as they may be squished.
    I love animals, they're delicious!

I couldndt disagree more, post count means little to me and im certain most others here. And he isnt suffering a "pack attack" simply because many of us have the same oppinion of the OP only lends validity to our beliefs.

Huh a threat? I dont believe anyone here feels that knowledge and recognition belong to them only and certainly dont feel threatned by the OP's knowledge.

Agreed of course he should be allowed his thoughts and oppinions and he may even be right in those oppinions it is simply how he presents these oppinons as being the only correct oppinion that leads to ridicule.

Hey see there, you're wrong. I get the Alaskan Cod fish stick filets from Costco and fry them in olive oil till they're crispy, season them up. They aren't particularly pricey but it does make a good fish taco.

Probly ought to give that up h9, you'll never come close to figuring me out.

Already you are wrong thinking I'm about money, I'm all about getting the most for the money spent. Best bet is for you to ignore me.

Just curious here more than anything else, Do you read your own posts after you are finished? If so you would know you are missing a couple of key elements to making friends here. First off there is no need to Categorize all republicans as bad or are argumentive nor democrats or any other group of people.

Secondly we have no need to know nor do we care about your whole life, especially if the main goal is to brag about your past present and future ventures, what your wife does, what kind of car you drive or how fast it goes nor do we need to be taught that cables make a difference.

If you want to establish yourself here as a member perhaps start by answering questions posed by newbies, Purchase a few items in the FM area so people can see your trustworthy and responsibile, put up a Karma or two, sponsor a get together in your area with other Polkies etc.

Dont give the impression in your first 50 posts here that feel you are this guy.
