Re: Tinkering with the office rig.....
What types of 6SN7 have you tried so far?
Ha, Ha, Ha.... I've gone down the rabbit hole (that's what I do...lol). It's much easier and less expensive since I need a single.
1954 Philco branded Sylvania 6SN7WGT -Black Plate Chrome Dome (short bottle)
1957 Tung Sol 6SN7GTB -Tall bottle brown micanol base with a top horseshoe getter and black angled T plates.
195? Tung Sol 6SN7GT Mouse Ear Gray T Plate Rectangular getter
1942 RCA JAN CRC 6SN7GT Tube Smoke Glass
1951 or 61 Bendix branded Sylvania 6SN7GT Angled T gray plate bottom getter
On the way:
KEN-RAD Black Plate Bottom Solid D Getter JAN-CKR-6SN7GT / VT-231 Tube
1951 Hytron 6SN7GT NOS NIB 2-Hole Black T Plates Bottom D Getter
Sylvania JAN CHS 6SN7GT VT-231 tall black plate w/2 holes
Came with:
1966 RCA 6SN7GTB black plate - very nice tube
Current production Tubg Sol 6SN7 haven't listened to this tube yet.
I still have a couple more to get, but then I've covered all the good ones.
Canadian Made Marconi RCA 6SN7GTB black plate is next.
So far the 1954 Philco branded Sylvania short bottle Chrome dome & the 1942 RCA JAN CRC smoke glass tube are excellent.

Re: 8' non-biwire MIT Shotgun S3 speaker cable pr. w/original packing
I bought those cable risers from Signal Cable a good 10yrs ago & I don't think he's had them since & they were dirt cheap to boot. I've looked at others since then but some of the prices were simply crazy. Never bought any more since then.
I have my doubts about the claims of them making a sonic difference. I use them strictly for asthetic purposes. They dress up the room for sure.
I always liked things nice & neat looking. They serve the purpose nicely. Definitely look into getting some if you can find them on the cheap

not that there's anything wrong with that!

Not sure if these came with a Continental kit or a life preserver was included for sea-side outings.
