Re: Billet RD-0194/8 tweeter plate design.
I do still have that single pair left. Welcome aboard. Pic/s of the newbie-2B's?
I may have been here for longer than I'm letting on. Full 'DIY, Mods & Tweaks' suite is soon to be in progress. Still in the planning phase currently.

Re: Lets hear your DAC recommendations
My answer would also be none of the above under $500. Have you tried to play a CD from your Blu Ray player over both HDMI and over the balanced analog outputs into the 8802 using the direct modes in both the player and and 8802? If you can't notice a difference in Pure Direct mode compared to the Emotiva CD player that's a good indicator. If you can then it may be worth investing in a DAC above the price threshold you're looking at. The internal DAC in the 8802 is also high performance, including for high resolution PCM and DSD, and may be at least as good as that in external devices under $1K although the rest of the 8802 does have its own analog sound character that can't be eliminated.
My take is an inexpensive DAC is likely to be powered by a switching power supply that'll end up inserting line noise and sibilance. There are numerous ones under $100 to test that out.
The Emotiva DAC is probably where you should be looking for an upgrade. You could try it and return it if it doesn't work out. Having the headphone section and eARC features is a positive.

Re: Billet RD-0194/8 tweeter plate design.
I would be interested in 2 for my SDA 2b (RD0198) if it's not too much trouble. If available for a forum newb, that is.

Re: New to me truck needs better than stock speakers
Thanks! I ordered some JBL coaxial three way speakers for the front and rear doors through Crutchfield. Fingers crossed! I hope they sound better than the OEM speakers.

Re: Smith & Myers
My daughter & I are huge Shinedown fans & I know Brent has lots of videos out there of cover songs. I listened to the Metallica cover & though ok. Then I listened to the Adele cover song & wow Brent's vocals are amazing as usual. I looked over to Rebecca & asked her if it sounded like Adele (as I wasn't sure I knew the song) she said yes but different in ways. Then as the song went on I knew the song, as I've heard it & enjoy Adele. Brent Smith & Myers are amazing. I should spend more time searching videos. Thanks for sharing
