Let’s begin with a Shout-Out to Douglas Connection, a company catering to us audio nuts, with big and small wallets, that happens to be owned by a fellow forum member, @helipilotdoug.
He’s a one man show and makes custom speaker cables, interconnects, as well as carries a ton of options for those that would prefer to DIY their own items. His DIY section is quite robust with connectors, wires by the foot, and includes fully assembled DIY kits for those wanting to save the time of sourcing all the wire and connectors.
I myself am running his interconnects for my HT, all of my surrounds, my DIY subs run speaker wire from him, and I’ve got a ton of spare other stuff from the years.
Quality is top notch, customer service is great, and you are supporting a US Vet owned company. What’s not to love about that.
But enough about all that, let’s get to the PSA portion of the post, which relate to FUREZ.
While exchanging emails with Doug for a purchase of speaker wire I needed, I learned that Furez (the company whose speaker wire I use for my diy cables) has gone out of business.
Hearing that I snatched up the LAST of Doug’s inventory of Furez 14/4 (a 10 and 8 foot pair). I believe he still may have some limited lengths of 14/2 available so I’d highly recommend getting it now before it’s gone forever.
I’m a big fan of Furez speaker wire over that from Monoprice, Amazon Basics, and even Audioquests FLX wire (all of which I’ve previously run) as it’s better insulated, super flexible, CL2 (ie in-wall rated rated). Moreover I’ve not found a comparable wire for the price so I’m thankful I’ve got a bunch of spare lying

Re: PSW150 Problems...schematic available?
Got it. You're the best.. thank you VERY much!!! I just tested the amp with the drive in the enclosure... works great... except the driver buzzes and rattles like crazy at anything other than very quiet excursions. Pulled it.. the corrugated spider had separated from the frame. Just reglued it... should be good to go tomorrow. Very excited... can't thank you enough for the help.

So I know I can read/research what the machinations are to go from a 1.2 to a 1.2tl, but is it just as simple as replacing the tweeters or are there other components that need to be upgaraded/replaced (namely crossovers and associated electronics) in addition to the tweeters? I still intend to read about the process, just looking for the "cliff notes" version right now so I can stay focused on target with my initial quest. I got so many new avenues to pursue right now that it almost seems overwhelming. BTW, I just listened to the Whisper Sessions - Melissa (feat. Derek Trucks) by Warren Haynes on Spotify (non-lossless, I wasn't lucky enough to be one of the early premium members to get moved to lossless) using my current system, Spotify connect->Sony strdh590 a/v receiver-> polk sda srs 1.2 and it sounded so darn good, that it made me excited to hear it with new and updated equipment.

Dang. I can't tell what sort of tape recorder that is.
It's got that stereo tape recorder in an attache vibe, which was a thing in those days. AIWA made a pretty nice one (see below), but it wasn't that angular, and not meant for pro use. 'Trane's tape recorder also doesn't look like a Nagra or Stellavox to me, nor a Uher, although I am way less savvy vis-a-vis those. Also not getting a Sony vibe, and based on the aesthetic, not a Tandberg, either.
Cannot think of an Ampex portable looking like that, either.
