Re: Always wanted one of these...
You know what?
I got an old Rotel RSP-960X Dolby Pro Logic pre-amp with an old Rotel stereo pro-logic amp (means it had 2 stereo channels, a center hybrid channel and a non-discrete rear surround)...both were new in like 1995 or something, gimmie a break!
But I used it as my bedroom rig for, like, 10 years. I still have it too and the only reason it's not currently in service is because it doesn't support all the connections the kids want with their games and stuff.
It's a favorite and honestly, Rotel is an underrated brand. Their sound is neutral but not dead is the best way to put it. The best analog I can come up with is New Audio Dimensions (NAD). It is unforgiving, though and will expose garbage gear or garbage recordings. That said, a set of Polk Audio R15's absolutely shined on that Rotel gear.
Just a shame they aren't independent still. Originally from Japan they are owned a Hong Kong conglomerate now and HQ'ed in China. From what I have read, they are still true to their roots for the most part but, I dunno for sure. I haven't heard anything new from them since around 2012 when the only local dealer went out of business. The closest dealer's an hour away now.
Anyway, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts when you get in-house.

Re: Can you have two many Adcom Amps voltage drop
I was able to tap into another circuit from the next door bedroom and move a couple amps off. I have another outlet being installed on the August 29th so then I should have three different circuits instead of one. I plan to keep the Amps I have for now. Due to the expense of wiring in new outlets. Thanks for your help on this.

Re: A/V Racks/Entertainment Cabinets
To build off of what @Jstas commented:
I built my 2ch rack using threaded rod and maple slabs.
Prior to finish:

I built mine with threaded rod from these guys:
https://www.fastenersplus.com/collections/threaded-rod
And sourced maple slabs from a friend that does a lot of woodworking.
Friend had seasoned slabs planed to a 2” thickness (and to get them flat). The bottom 2 shelves had the live edge removed from the rear of the slabs and the top shelf we left both live edges (just a personal preference for me), but you could have all live edges removed if you preferred.
I think the total cost was under $500.

Re: A/V Racks/Entertainment Cabinets
Are you interested in "Flexi-racks"?
The ones made with all-thread and MDF or plywood?
'Cause I can tell you what you need to do to make one not flexible and sonically dead.

Doesn't have to be that big either. That's just what fit my needs.

Re: New TRON Movie, NIN, Nine Inch Nails
Trent and Atticus have been making stellar movie scores for quite a few years. Sometimes, it's my favorite part of a flick and that's probably the only reason I will ever sit down and re-watch The Social Network.
