Re: Can I fix a mark Levinson 33 Monoblock thread
Lol, i honestly find it somewhat therapeutic... Strangely enough
Obviously it would be nice that it worked once I'm done hahahhahhahahhaha but I've learned alot working on it so far and gathered tools that will be helpful for future projects.
The biggest investment so far have been Desoldering tips... Jeebus those bad boys are expensive but you definitely have to have the right size for different size pads, no question!

Paging @Geoff4rfc
Anyone heard from him? Catastrophic flooding near San Antonio. I wouldn’t think he’d be affected, but he hasn’t been on CP since June 29. Hope everything is okay.

Re: Can I fix a mark Levinson 33 Monoblock thread
So all caps replaced... Electrolytic, film, ceramic.
Replaced all relays
Replaced both op amps... The old ones measured good on the tester but I ordered 75 new ones so... Why not replace!
Replaced around 40 resistors. I wanted to replace one pair but no one carried an equivalent quality. The resistor still measures perfect but just looks like it has been hot in the past. All of the resistors I installed are further from the board as well.
Finally catching up to where I can tackle this again! Should be able to knock some out this week for sure! 😁

Re: Post a picture.....any picture...part deux...
The consensus online is that this is Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne. (I had a girlfriend whose father was a Geordie.)
The quote below is from Facebook:
"For those asking when the pic was taken, the ship is the Esso Northumbria and she was launched in May 1969 so the pic was taken either late in 1968 or early in 1969."
The sister ship Esso Hibernia was launched in 1970 and there very similar images where the word "Hibernia" is clearly visible on the hull.
The slips where these ships were built are circled in red in a recent satellite view (below).
