^^^ LOVE THIS!!
Brought back some good and bad memories. My mom had a "hickory switch" that was always standing up on the fireplace mantel. THANKS!

Re: Can you do an Ohm test with tweeter plugged in?
Depends on the crossover topology, but no, probably not.NewToAudio wrote: »
Had to be hot melt glue. Unless theres a clearish looking solder idk about. It just had it on the - terminal. Would unplugging the + lead be enough to test it?

Re: what to do with monitor 7c speakers
randomdood wrote: »I picked up a pair of minty Monitor 7c's, complete with boxes and original paperwork no less..
Anyway, I recall some experience with the monitor 7a's and recall them as being pretty nice overall but these 7c versions are not exactly making me want to call my neighbors over to check them out.
Is it the age? Perhaps some new caps and resisters??
Maybe I should just chuck the tweeters and go with a newer design that can be crossed over allot lower like the Seas or Scanspeaks and go through the process of a new crossover for them.
The bass response seems entertaining enough and the mids appear ok but they get shrill and glassy in the transition to the tweeter.. I can't help but think to use a nice broadband tweet and go with the old school series crossover and see what happens. I'm also thinking some cabinet damping like those car audio damping sheets would help in the lower mids too. Perhaps some light fluff of wool or poly as well..
Opinions?
Thanks.
I own a pair, had 10A's, but prefer these more. Mine are still stock and I love them. My spring project is going to be having the crossovers done & getting new tweets. I can only imagine how they'll sound powered by my Sansui AU-717.

Re: Legend L800's - Need Advice & Opinions
Thanks to all for their opinions and info. I have decided to pass on these... too many speakers already. If anyone is interested in a project and lives near/can drive to Atlanta, I can hook you up with my source.
There is a left and a right, one is brown, the other black. Missing one grille. $500 for both.
