Re: You’re doing it wrong…
That drives me crazy! I'd almost drive over to that house with my pin crimper
Kit to fix it. It would take about 20 minutes to fix. Most of it would involve
removing the mess he made.

First Time buying a Used Vehicle is a very long time.
Hello everyone,
So back in the spring , I started searching used SRT Durango's. I found very few back than and the ones I found, I wasn't exactly happy with. As most of you know, I'm a Perfectionist with my cars , garage kept , no daily drivers etc. Ceramic coated and always detailed. Dodge stopped making the SRT Durango in 2024.
So buying a used car for me is very hard. I find anything wrong and I'm out. I basically look for a new car used and that just wasn't working out for me. I looked at a few that I could find SRT Durango's and again, I was OUT!!. Scratches , worn looking interiors etc with only 15k miles really turned me off. So I started looking R/T Durango's , I was hoping to find another one like I had back in 2017 just a lot newer. I also looked new as in 2025 , they still offered the R/T Trim level with Trim levels within the R/T trim level. Ok I know that sounded confusing a bit but if your shopping cars, you know .
Anyway , after a few months of going to lots, looking at Durango's I didn't want due to condition, I looked at the last R/T which was in New Jersey. Redline Red, 11k Miles and a great price. I took my Scat Pack Charger 2020 model year there and the Salesman was shocked in the condition and low miles. He thought it was a 2023 and super well taken care of. Better then most new ones he said and he also said I will get top dollar on my trade. I looked at the 2024 Durango R/T and it was scratched, stained and I just walked out. The salesman understood as he said hardly no one takes care of their cars like you do meaning me. It made me sad but I know most don't and I knew used was a mistake.
So I started planning a Hellcat Durango, the cost was just insane and I just couldn't justify spending 100k+ on a truck that isn't as fast as a Challenger Hellcat for less.
Than I woke up one Friday morning, it was an Office day for me which means work from home and a 2021 Durango SRT Came up in Destroyer Grey. 30k miles and just traded. The pictures looked promising but I had no faith as none of these used ones where in anywhere good condition to my standards. So I called, the salesman said it was the owners sons and it was garage kept, serviced always and early at the dealership and always detailed and super clean. I thought whatever but my curiosity got me and I decided to take the drive and check it out. If it sucked whatever , I expected that anyway.
To my surprise , It looked pretty damn good on first look as I parked a few spots from it. The salesman pulled it right out front so I had plenty of room to walk around it open the doors etc. I walked around it 3 times before I opened a door. I couldn't find a ding , scratch anywhere and I started looked hard. Then I opened the door and the interior was in near perfect condition except the floor mats. They showed signs of wear but that doesn't phase me, I planned on getting new ones no matter what.
The interior was slightly dirty, not to the average but for me not perfect. Again no wear so dust doesn't bother me I'm a hobbyist detailer. The salesman took a look at my car and again shock set it and said no one takes care of their cars like that not even the Son of the dealership who was almost as a freak as me. They also offered top dollar as it was the cleanest nicest Scat pack ever traded in.
I drove it and then purchased it. It checked all my boxes , well it was a bit older that I actually wanted , I wanted a 2024 or 2023 but this one with just turned 30k miles was in better condition than any 2023 or 2024 I looked at R/T or SRT.
I got a good deal, I was happy with the dealership, I have now owned it for a few months now and I can't be happier with it. I miss the Charger but the Durango serves my current needs better. No I don't daily drive my cars as I have a work van I use for work and only drive my vehicles when I need to do personal stuff.
I already took it to the dragstrip for fun and no it's not as fast as the Scat pack but it still gets up and goes.
Here is a few pics.

Re: Post a picture.....any picture...part deux...

Dolores Erickson was the woman who was on the cover of Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass album "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" in 1965.
She was 30 years old at the time and is still with us today at 90 in 2025.
