Very same thing has now happened to me. Almost 5 years old. Worked fine a couple days ago, then next time I turned it on: no sound. Remote works. LED’s work. ‘Twas using optical cable input. Tried AUX and BlueTooth on different devices to no avail. Essentially bricked. Factory reset does not help.

I decided that I would not get an extra $1500 worth of performamce out of the 8805a and I did not need 8k or the extra 2 channels. I also did not want to deal with potential HDMI 2.1 handshake/incompatibility issues. The other options (Anthem, Arcam, etc) were simply way out of my price range and also seem to have their own sets of issues. It is crazy to me how expensive separates have become!
