Re: Made an offer on this roadster
Go for it! That interior is spectacular. Your kid has already given you permission.
I considered one about 8 years ago from the original owner of a white one that had less than 20k miles. I knew this man personally, and he was very enthusiastic about his car that he occasionally drove. I see a yellow one from time-to-time at the Publix where I shop about a mile from my house, and I still think I should have purchased the white one.
I wanted a convertible, again. I understand those 2nd childhood feelings and bold midlife crises.
You want it and need it!

Re: New Adcom 555ms with SDA-2B
Hi Rhythm, I power my 2B's with a Yamaha A-S2200 and for me it was look no further. I listen mostly to acoustic instruments and ambient electronic in hi-def, and the definition, attack, imaging and soundstage are amazing (with Dreadnaught). So good it even fools my cat who will start looking for the little bird in the center of the soundstage. Great piece of kit for the price, no digital anything. If you want to rock the house, there are better options, but if you want lifelike sound, worth a look.

Re: Monitor 4 Crossover Question
HF1000 in 99.9% was the SL1000 tweeter.
I don't believe so. The SL1000 wasn't a 4 ohm tweeter, it was something Polk came up to serve as a stop gap measure when the Peerless went out of production. I saw a buyer's guide full page ad from 1984 where Polk said the SL1000 was in all of the speakers except the 4A, which they didn't specify any model# for.
Here's what I think Polk was referring to as the HF1000. I have to say that they did refer to the Peerless sometimes as the HF1000 in the RTA11/Model 11 manual however, but maybe they were fast and loose with the ol' HF1000 designation:

Steve Ware and his girlfriend Samantha Wade with their children (from left) Charlie Ware, Eva Strain (above), Eliza Jane Ware and Henry Strain watch "Lilo & Stitch" at Starlight Drive-In Theatre, Friday, June 13, 2025, in Atlanta.
We had a STARLIGHT drive-in here in Wilmington NC. also. It closed about 25 years ago. It was turned into a weekend flea market for decades, but the property was sold many years ago to house affordable?... homes ( LOL) for the needy.
I never went there except a handful of times to the flea-market.
My parents did take us to a drive-in when I was about 12. That drive-in was in VA. somewhere.
A double feature HORROR night. I still remember it was FUN and COOL too.

Re: Made an offer on this roadster
Holy cow a 20yr old car that still sells for 20k with 100k on the odometer? That's crazy, must have been a very low production vehicle.
It's a Honda what could go wrong with it?
Check out the prices for an older Honda NSX. Kid up the street from my parents had a purple one...bada$$ car.
My buddy has a yellow NSX less than 40k miles. He's had it for about 15 years. He's getting ready to sell it as he rarely drives it. It's been a good 401K for him......lol
