Re: Dead tweeters on one month old R700's
I just blew a pair of tweets on a new pair of R700s using a pair of newly refurbished Adcom GFA-555's. I had them running bridged and not biamped, so lack of power was not the issue. LOL when the tweeter blew I literally saw electric flashing behind the soft dome ring. Its sad because the system sounded really good. The Polk's had a three-dimensional sound, for lack of a better term.

Bridged amps do not like less than 8ohm loads. The R700 drop to 3.5 ohm which is a no go for bridged amps.

Re: What did you do to your stereo rig today?
I don't know what gave it away, but do I detect just a tad bit of OCD in that room or what? 😀

Re: PS Audio Power Ports
Yeah. It all makes sense now.
these are necessary, but a slip fit banana plug vs bare wire clamped down to a binding post is flawed logic?? You contradict yourself sir.

Today I replaced the 2A3 amp for a pair of Shanling SP-80 EL34 mono blocks. I sold these to a friend years ago. Today they found their way back home.

Which reminds me - If you encase your ex in concrete shoes and she floats, it proves she's a witch. Even though everyone already knows she's a witch, sometimes we need to test these things. It's understandable, and you'll be exonerated in most courts of law, if... well, if, on the off chance, she doesn't float.
