I recall experiencing a pair of 901s at high volume in off-base housing in England back in the early 1980s when I was a teenager. They left an impression.

Dave R.I.P. had the Bose 901 continental speakers. I believe the cabinet was different compared to the regular 901's. He OF COURSE hot rodded the snot out of the EQ module. Dave built a good career out of working on those, he knew his stuff.I remember Dave @westmassguy was particularly fond of his 901s. He had some kind of special edition, though I don't recall the specific model.
