Polk monitor 10A contour network
Hello I have monitor 10As and they have a "RC contour network / filter" in the Tweeter part of the crossover before the main 12uF Cap. What is this here for? My 7Bs and 5Bs do not have it. Also, when I upgrade the crossover do I need to use an equivalent quality Cap as the main 12uF? Thanks

Re: Teac A-6300 R2R For Repair
Got the used limit stop. I had already looked at videos of A-6300’s playing and filed the second stop on the fabricated one until the arm position clock position matched during play.
The flywheel had some oil inside the hub. I cleaned it and cut a narrow strip of felt and glued it in. Typically, you find foam or felt on capstan flywheels to catch any oil that may leak from bearing so it doesn’t get to the belt. The design of this one prevented a foam or felt disc around the capstan bearing hub area. The diameter of the bearing hub extends to the holes in flywheel.
Great results! Plays with no issues now in reverse. Good sounding deck. Now do I flip it and buy a better deck or totally recap it and keep it.

As an example, this is a capstan flywheel from the Teac 4010SU showing deteriorated foam replaced with felt. The 6300 used a rubber seal at the capstan end instead of foam like the 4010.

What happened to the price of plywood?
Going to dual subs in my HT has necessitated the need to build a new (smaller) rack for my gear. So I head down to Home Depot to grab a sheet of 3/4” oak plywood. I bought a sheet about a year ago for a different project, and remember paying about $45…
Well - my sheet for this project ran me NINTY-EIGHT DOLLARS…! That’s right, $98. Unbelievable.

Re: NC mountains
Just got in my Google travel log for last month. It's actually missing some areas I visited from the week before that. On the right is all work related stuff. On the left is fun time stuff. I'm up in the mountains often and many of the photos I have seen, I can easily place where they are. Heck, even the wife recognized where the temporary rock/mud road coming out of Banner Elk was.

We have cancelled all of our mountain trips for this year, as to not burden the local folks. It takes too long to get up to the cabins near Byson City (where Carverfest is held) due to roads being closed until late next year.
I will be able to take the family up to my Dad's cabin to go visit him. His area didn't get hit that bad. The main damage in that area (near Lake Toxaway) was down at the stream/river basins and the power infrastructure. He finally has power again (and can communicate good now with the outside world).

He didn't take it political, others mentioned FEMA misinformation yesterday.
Discuss away:

While the funds are distributed by FEMA, they do not come from the agency's budget.
Keep spreading that misinformation from your glorious orange leader.
Maybe it was KJP that spread the misinformation
