Re: Isoacoustics
I wouldn’t run an SVS sub on a wood floor without the add on feet. They help stick the subwoofers in place and keep the energy in driver movement rather than in the cabinet.
FWIW, Isoacoustics makes a line of three models above the Gaia for speakers above 180 lbs or so a piece called Titan. Same concept and design. All of them lift speakers 1 to 3 inches higher than stock feet which can affect ear height to tweeters a bit. I have noticed a handful of high end speaker manufacturers have started including the concept in their speakers.

Re: Isoacoustics
I've tried the SVS feet. Actually, they came attached to an sb12 I bought used. On carpet, I felt they limited the sub. All tactile slam was lost. Spikes were much better. I suspect hard floors would be a different story.

Re: Isoacoustics
Gaia models are designed to match with speakers in different weight ranges. If a speaker is outside the weight range it will crush the isolation/control material rendering it useless. Box speakers tend to be front heavy because of the driver location and front baffle being thicker but I think the feet are designed to accommodate that. Size up if the speaker is near the upper limit on weight. For example L800s require Gaia I rather than Gaia II.
This is what they look like on the inside (from the patent). A pair of elastomeric dish shaped cushions connected together. Would have springiness and damping characteristics. These things are like $200, $296, $496 per set of 4 for the III, II, and I.

Re: Bad Christmas for Me
Nothing good unfortunately. Hearing is still completely gone and I’m having more and more neurological symptoms, left side of my face feels strange, almost if numb but not totally.
Seeming more and more like I have an Acousric Neuroma on the left ear nerve that is putting pressure on other nerves. I’m no doctor but at this point there’s gotta be something else going on. Nothing else I can do but wait for the MRI though.

Re: Just received new RTi10's - First Impressions
A little late here but based on my years of use with RTi10s and a good amp in my opinion the brightness will never go away. For HT they are great speakers and I have no complaints. For music at low volume they are good but a high volume they are way too bright for me. I am using the B&K in my sig. so they are not wanting for high current power. It is just the way they are and you either learn to live with it or move on. Someday when I have money my plan is to move up to the LSiM 705 because in general I prefer a ring tweeter to a soft dome for music.

Re: You’re doing it wrong…
Let's make the doors on fridge coolers look like an iPhone.
This is amazing. Walgreens signed a 10 year contract with a startup to install 45k fridge door advertising screens, and now in a $200m contract dispute because they were so buggy - and so the screen company blanked out the screens in over 100 stores without telling Walgreens they were doing it. The doors are now in a warehouse in El Paso Texas.
Walgreens replaced its refrigerator doors with digitized ad-laden glass. It might become a $200 million debacle

Re: $15 Monitor 7Cs
You could still see in back where I reconstructed the corners and it looked ugly. It occurred to me when I started on the fronts that I could cover it in back with veneer as well. It accomplished covering the ugly spots and unexpectedly turned out sort of fancy 😂

can you imagine the mildew growin' on that during the warm, damp summer months, e.g., in the US Southeast?

Re: Kid Rock's female drummer
Very interesting, almost as much about him as her. I never cared for Kid Rock much until recently. I think it was @pitdogg2 who expressed an affinity for him on here a while back, which encouraged me to take a more serious listen.
