Re: Phantom center channel
Magnepan speakers have an advantage of being dipole speakers with sound emanating front and rear so reflecting off the front wall plus ideal setup sets a small sweet spot due to toe in and really dials in a big and strong center image. Not all box speakers will have that type of performance and make a center channel speaker unnecessary.
I tried my 1.7is without a center speaker and wasn't disappointed, but wasn't happy with the relative loss of dynamics for home theater when compared to L800s for mains and a L400 for center.
But, I'd be happy with using the 1.7is and the pair of Rel S/510s they pair with for a dual music/movie system if I needed to.

Re: TECHNICS - SL-1210G Direct Drive Turntable
Do you have a note of this person's youtube channel?skipshot12 wrote: ».
There’s a fella on YouTube that has a buyer in Japan selecting the top condition tables for him to bring into the us.
He totally rebuilds and upgrades them to last another 20 years. That's nice. What's that little clear piece on the plinth on the right?I agree with @skipshot12 . The higher end tables of that era were something special.
Absolutely,
Search captmark09 on YouTube.
I purchased my KP-9010 from him a few years ago.
Does absolutely top notch work on his overhauls and also starts with extremely beautiful condition tables.

The YouTube guy the I know of goes by Capt. Mark. ( https://www.youtube.com/@captmark09/videos)
Others report good things about him.
I got mine from HiFiDo direct from Japan. Refurbed.
The plastic piece is the stylus guard for the AT-OC9ML that's on the table right now

Re: Modding RT25i crossover ?
The main issue is where you plan to put it. The crossover is going to take up substantial real estate in such a small enclosure

Glue can use a heat gun
Also the rti boards are very low quality with extremely thin traces.
Be careful

Dap lots of denatured alcohol on the glue keeping the glue wet. After 5 minutes it should peel right off.

Don't know who this guy was, but he has the best mad as a box of frogs look ever.
Well, it's not Baron Von Redberry, so it must be Sir Grapefellow.
