Re: Thoughts on a possible REL upgrade.
The high level inputs allow the main L/R speakers (or any others) to take advantage of the filter in the connected subwoofers with the speakers set to large rather than small in the receiver/preamp. The LFE inputs in the subwoofers are only active with LFE content (the .1 in 5.1 or 7.1) for movie or multichannel audio soundtracks.
Ditto!
It was very interesting setting up the one 7x for the center speaker. For this application the high level is used, no LFE. I set the level in the AVR using pink noise to 75db so it was level matched with the other speakers. Now I had to adjust the high level by ear. The XO & gain adjustments were instantly audible in the sound. It went from thin sounding to too beefy. Even the slightest adjustment made a difference. After about 20 minutes of tinkering everything fell into place beautifully. The center now sounds like a full range speaker & makes a remarkable difference in the front sound stage compared to its previous setting of small & XO set to 80hz.
I'm curious if other manuf. allow for both high level & .1 LFE to be run simultaneously. My previous VELO SPL 1200R subs has both connections but the manual was very specific in stating DO NOT use both together, it was one or the other.

Re: Thoughts on a possible REL upgrade.
The single S812 in my two channel system is set up to be subtle and blend. My separate home theater system takes advantage of the ability of my S510 pair to have the speaker leavel connections and the LFE connections. Now I'm getting tempted to add a third but smaller subwoofer for the center channel speaker just using speaker level connections.

I've been away for a few days or so, took me 2 and half pages to catch up......after seeing pics and reading responses....my observation tells me a group of you, not naming names but you know who you are, are either silly with the silly season, or, as I'm inclined to believe, you people are drug sharing....

Re: Camden Square battery?
The top just lifted off, there is a groove where a square gasket sit, it was glued in the corners,
but not to the top part. I have not yet received the new battery pack, but the connector looked
just like in the Polk battery, even the wire colors was same.
There are 4 small speakers with quite big magnets.

YES I still have my Laserdisc player (well now I have two of the same-long story) I am back to enjoying them. This is one of only 9 titles that were released on Laserdisc 💿 in Dolby Digital EX 6.1
I have 8 of them.

I had to go to eBay Europe to find this in Auro 3D.
The American 🇺🇸 copies were all Dolby. Eventually I’m gonna try it out

Re: Wax on, wax off
Very nice! Always thought the lsi series had a timeless look, especially with the painted gloss versus the vinyl the initial release had.
I still recall to this day seeing the Lsi15 with the high gloss painted power port base and thinking it was a striking speaker.
Initial release

Painted finish

So much nicer!
