Re: Power to drive R700
He was basically correct. Your receiver is rated @ 120 watts x 2. Will they make sound, yes. You will never get them to their full potential, also more easily blow tweeters or drivers due to clipping. The good news is that the receiver does have pre outs to add a dedicated 2 channel or multi-channel amp. It's not all about watts you also need good current (high-current) as well. If you end up shopping for an amp look for one that will basically double down. By that I mean if it is 200 watts per channel at 8 ohms then it should double to 400 watts at 4 ohms or very close to it. That's indicative of a good power supply. One of the things that receivers do is they cheap out on the power supply because that is actually the most expensive part copper and power, banks of large capacitors to store power for demanding passages of music or movie explosions etc.

Re: 6510 VS 6503 in SDA 2B's
You could have bought NOS MW6502 from me. They are listed in the classifieds.

Re: My deal of the century!
I've bought both the cooling dampers and Herbie's, they both reside in my junk drawer now.

Re: Hulk hogan dies cardiac arrest 71 years old
It’s kinda sad and a bit shocking to see the petty, small-minded hateful people all over the Internet spewing their venom about Hulk Hogan. This from people that preach love and tolerance… Their true colors are indeed showing.

Re: Rebuilding Polk Monitor 7C W/SL1000 To Accept Peerless Tweeter?
Hi,
A question...
Does Polk Audio, know you Guys are running your own "Dog and Pony Show" over here, and...
Running people off, and giving Polk Audio, a bad name???
Just wondering how this works?
I will be happy to answer this one... most of the "dog and pony" stuff to which you so eloquently make reference to, is simply good-natured joking around wrapped within a tinge of sarcasm. No insult or harm is inferred or intended. Most of the advice given here is solid or better and based on decades of individual and hundreds of years combined experience. Jesse (F1nut) has more than a thousand years of experience just by himself, though most of us believe him to be far older than that.
My point is to simply let the sarcasm roll off your back and roll with the flow. Be slow to take offense, quick to learn, and if you choose to forge your own path, that is ok too. The advice offered was hard earned over decades, but it is up to you to decide its worth and what to do with it.
