Re: What are these?
I think that 2nd one may be some kind of fancy built in stylus cleaner.
I found this that has a similar look: https://audiotwo.com/collections/turntable-accessories/products/integrityhifi-tru-kleen-stylus-cleaner
I prefer to use this type...

Re: Receiver for polk audio set up
This isn't hard. Connect the + from the receiver to the + on the speaker. After that it'll should be obvious where the other speaker cable goes. It doesn't matter what the color of the cable is as long as it's + to + and - to -.

So on one channel we're using the gold as positive, silver as negative, and on the other it's reversed? That's not confusing at all.
Then we got dual blue wires with seemingly no polarity markings for the surrounds/bookies. Interesting.
I guess technically it doesn't matter if the polarity is reversed, they'll still make sound, but meh. Would be nice to correctly do it positive to positive, negative to negative.

Re: Receiver for polk audio set up

Looks like someone was making or had made jumpers to replace the binding post plates.

Same color wire for both positive AND negative.....full stop! That is just asking for the magic smoke to jump out ...

Re: Post a picture.....any picture...part deux...
(To normal girl) "Hello, one small coffee please, beautiful." = 50 cents
(To girl with blue or purple hair) "Hello, one small coffee please, beautiful." = $9.00
