Re: Has anyone tried two pairs of front speakers? Does it produce a fuller sound stage?
Back in the very early days, Harry Pearson (HP) had good things to say about double Advent speakers.

Re: Desktop tower - i5 v i7
I added uBlock Origin and it helped with loading pages. I received the two 8 meg sticks today and they definitely help. Everything seems faster than before. Switching pages seems instantaneous, or at least as compared to before.
Good move for $15, thanks for all the suggestions.
In some ways, the longer you can put off an upgrade, the better. Hardware gets faster for the same price every year.

Re: Legend Line being discontinued.......?
What good is the warranty if there are no parts in the next 5 years. I get it, it's the way it is these days. If so, then don't talk about a warranty or offer a warranty.
Think what would happen if the auto industry did this? Sorry your car is a year old but we have no OEM parts for it. But, I have this nice shiny new car on the showroom and you can pay $5K over MSRP?

Re: Legend Line being discontinued.......?
Very disappointing to be sure. I do agree that not making sure replacement parts are available from when the last set is sold is really a d@@k move. Makes me wonder how long the Reserves will be made. I'd better start thinking about getting some replacement parts myself as I buy new speakers every 30 years or so, so..., I'll die owning these...

Re: Woodbourne Speaker Doesn't Turn On: Possible Causes?
I have an old Woodbourne speaker that suddenly stopped working. It was unplugged for about a month and when I plugged it back in, it won't turn on. No lights, no sign of life, I tried both with the front buttons and the remote. What could be the possible causes and is there a potential relatively easy fix, like replacing a fuse? If so, how do I do that?
I really like the design and the sound is very pleasant, so I would hate to throw it away. Polk hasn't designed anything new in this category that is a worthy successor, either. So, any help is greatly appreciated.
I suspect the feet on the bottom pop out to expose screws, which would allow one to access the workings. Perhaps there is a fuse in there, perhaps there is a loose connection, perhaps a bad capacitor...lots of perhaps. My understanding is the failure rate of the Woodbourne was very high and you're lucky yours lasted this long.

Here's a better idea, don't do it at all.

Re: Polk L900's for Atmos
They work very well for me in a pair of L800s and it's because of them that I started using Auro 3D surround mode for all AV content. I have standard ceiling height in the room I have mine in. I've even thought about adding a pair of L600s with L900s as surround speakers but haven't felt the need to. The L800s add width and the L900s add height.
I really appreciate that Polk made these available as an add on option that can be installed in the speaker cabinet rather than sitting on top. I have a pair of the R900s I'm not using right now and they look like a bit of an eye sore but they did function well.
Best to spring for the L900s fast if wanting them because they're getting hard to find and it's unlikely they'll be easy to find on the used market later.

Re: FS. Polk LSiM 703 in Cherry. (400.00)
Wow that is a good deal. I used to live in North Jersey until Jan 2022. Would have snagged it if I did.

Re: Legend Line being discontinued.......?
I sheepishly admit that I continue to support Chinazon. Aside from groceries and local hardware store needs, it's pretty much my first and only stop for everything else. My area's just never really supported a lot of the stuff I'm into, and merch and goods have not been readily available, so I started using them back in the mid to late 00s, I think. Years back Amazon really seemed pretty decent. Now they're enshittified, and we A shoppers are pretty much just building China by using it.
Most the goods sold by local stores are also made in China, so you'd be supporting them even without Amazon.
Most things just aren't made in the USA anymore.
