I'm about to buy a new sound bar. Has the problems with the popping sounds on the Max been solved or should i go for the MAGNIFI 2.

Re: MagniFi Max SR - Surrounds Popping (despite software updates)
I bought this system complete with rear speakers in August 2021, and ever since new Iv had rear right side only slight pops / crackles. Iv done everything Polk have asked me and it does fix it for short period of time and them back to the pops / crackles.
Its now 2023 - is anyone still having these issues? cause to be honest, after spending this money starting to feel like wasted alot of money on this product.

Re: MagniFi Max SR - Surrounds Popping (despite software updates)
I am on firmware version 136 of Polk Magnify Max SR. I receive constant crackling on rear left speaker which is quite annoying . Pls help. My soundbar is connected to my fibre router via a LAN cable . I was told that updates will thus occur automatically without any input from my side. Is this true?

Re: Why is there no sound from Polk SR1 wireless rear speakers?
Update 4:
While going through various posts from people facing the same problem, I stumbled upon a post that highlighted something I hadn't paid much attention to. When I tried to install my soundbar, I didn't realize that the rear speakers weren't connected to power. I assumed that the rear speakers needed to sync with the soundbar, which is why no light was coming out. Later on, I connected the soundbar to the internet, and it automatically started updating along with the subwoofer. I believe that because the rear speakers were turned off, their system wasn't being updated.
Back in January 2019, a user named @joesephK mentioned in a post:
"Sounds like a mismatched firmware. I had a similar issue because my surround speakers were unplugged and didn't receive the new update when the soundbar updated to version 103.
Here's what I did: unplug everything, then plug in the soundbar first and let it boot. Next, turn on the soundbar until you see the red light, and then plug in the subwoofer and surround speakers. This should trigger the soundbar to fetch the update if it detects a mismatch."
I followed these steps, but unfortunately, I didn't achieve any success.
My current firmware version is 136.
Now, I have a few questions:

Now, I have a few questions:
- Is it possible to reinstall the firmware?
- Can we downgrade and then upgrade the firmware again?
- I noticed a USB input at the back of the soundbar with a label that says "service." Can I do something with this to reinstall the firmware?

SR1 surround speakers only emit static sound when synchronized w Polk Magnifi Max soundbar
The SR1 speakers only emit static sounds when synchronized with the Polk Audio Max soundbar and base unit. (Synchronized process performed several times)
The Polk Audio Max soundbar has been connected to the internet for days with a known working network cable (tested with another internet device).
The soundbar is supposed to update firmware when connected to the internet.
Polk MagniFi Max:
- System Firmware 103
- Cast firmware 1.21.75965
1. Help to remove the static.
2. Do I have the latest firmware?
3. If I don’t have the latest firmware, help update the unit to the latest firmware.
- Google Home indicates the MagniFi Max is connected to WiFi, but clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner doesn’t give the option to update firmware. The only options available were “Feedback” and “Open Source License”.

Re: SR1 surround speakers only emit static sound when synchronized w Polk Magnifi Max soundbar
I have the same problem with my MagniFi Max. I bought the SR1 surround speakers separately and can't get them to play anything other than a horrible static sound

Re: New Useless Vanilla Feature
WTH is it for?
On mobil it seems to freeze up your screen and place a white bar across the middle of the screen. Cool feature.
