Re: Coffee grinder, didn't know
If there is a machine that can do all that for under $100, I'm in
My absolute favorite "bang for the buck" coffee maker, the Chemex pour over options:

When I'm at my cabin, it's all I have for coffee there (cabin is "off-grid").
I liked it so much that I got another one for the house.
A goose neck kettle is also nice to have when using a pour over.

Re: VPI Signature 21 Turntable.
Larry. Start prepping. Is the mounting location level. Get it as level as possible .

Re: Tire shops
It’s crazy to me what a huge conversation this turned in to. A quick hit with an impact gun, good tightening with a hand wrench or a precise torquing - just get them good and tight. Start the threads by hand, don’t over tighten, and do the star pattern to avoid warping…

Re: Tire shops
As long as they don't sit there and hammer away after tight with the impact you should be fine.
Once again as long as they start them with fingers first.

Is that a Banjo Clock on the upper left wall wall to the left?
*Fixed the almost political phrase
Yup. A rather nice one, too (well... to me, at any rate). Branded "Tiffany" but according to my Clock Guy, made by Waltham (if memory serves). I am sitting about 15 feet from it as I type this.A family piece from Mrs. H's family. My family was more like Monkey Wards-grade stuff.
I like hifis that glow and clocks that tick.
Meanwhile, here's what it is like at our house this morning. I was sorely tempted to put this in the You're doing it wrong thread...

Mother nature is doing it wrong.

Re: ferro fluid in Peerless tweeter?
In the Peerless the dome/voice coil are glued to the faceplate and there are 4 oversized screw holes that allow centering of the voice coil in the magnet assembly. No tabs. No alignment pins or anything.

Re: ferro fluid in Peerless tweeter?
Nope on Danish or USA made ones. If you were to open one up just to look you could lose the voice coil positioning.
