I've been using those so long, the lettering is worn off and I can barely read the day if I angle it to the light. Mine are round, so there is no counting days from the left.

Duude, some days in the past, long ago, it would have taken me forever to walk down that hallway, running? Forget about it! That is knarly!

Legality is similar to the stinky budz. Some states and/or cities have decriminalized or made it legal, but at a Federal level, it remains a Schedule 1 controlled substance. I know some people who microdose for anxiety, depression, etc., because most companies don't test for it in a drug screening.

That must be why they are more prevalent too, bigger distribution channels.
