Re: Snub Way road test
I would be interested in this as well. However, I also have an APC H15 PC, with the 4 different "banks" of outlets. I don't think, from my reading, one of these can filter the whole PC, just one of the four "banks" (even if there is an outlet available). Is this correct? I can't use the other outlet on the wall that the PC is plugged into, unfortunately. In the living room each wall plug is split. Meaning, one outlet has constant power and the other is run by a wall switch for the lighting (1970's ranch, guess it was a thing back then). If I can only use it for one of the "banks" I'll have to pass, as all are full except a couple...

Re: need opinion for this polk audio monitor 10
The tweeter is the nasty SL2000.
Someone has applied a shine product such as Armor All to the drivers/PR/tweeter and possibly the cabinet. Walk away!

Well, that is if they're not locked or nearly locked up.

Re: Mochamaster Coffee Maker
I can remember when all my relatives had a stove top percolator. Then one by one they all went high tech with an electric percolator that sat on the countertop. Boy, those were swell days.....

Re: Strange tweeter issue after recap crossover for Monitor 7 series 2
I like to use a tip tinner. Mine's from Radio Shack (LOL) which you aren't likely to find. Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Tinner-Soldering-Cleaning-Supplied-Wonderway/dp/B0DGPP78NY/ref=sr_1_2_sspa
I didn't read this whole thing but here's some advice on soldering
https://www.aaroncake.net/electronics/solder.htm
If you are going to try to remove the old solder I would still apply paste flux to it to get it to melt easier and flow out. It is very oxidized at this point.
If I was a beginning solderer I wouldn't attempt to do it without flux no matter what the marketing blurb for the solder says.

Re: You know you’re getting old when…
I also took 2 years of typing in high school 71 and 72. Never used the skill again till the mid 90's when I brought my first Gateway puter home. To my amazement it all came right back after a 25 year hiatus and I could still do "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" without looking at the keys. Nowadays rarely a day goes by where I'm not using that very useful skill.

Re: Post a picture.....any picture...part deux...
Please show me where I've whined about anything political...
That would be difficult, as you typically wade-in with the intention of getting the thread deleted, and unfortunately you are usually successful.
However, you’ll note that even though you posted an overtly political meme, I didn’t “report” or “flag” it, because I don’t really care about the post. What I find annoying is your hypocrisy…

Re: New TV recommendations
Hey Don, some of the Hisense and TCL's have gotten high marks.
I'm a big Sony fan myself you could probably pick up a lower model for the upper part of that budget.
On the other hand Vizio has been good with the exception that their remotes have sucked in the past.
