    My lawn height is 4.5" compared to the 2" height of my neighbor's lawn. I cut both lawns that day. The neighbor's lawn looked neglected, so I cleaned it up a little.

    Falconer Brian Holley and his apprentice Reggie Worthy will be with us at the Little Red Schoolhouse Museum, 295 North Johnston Street, Dallas, November 14th at 1:00 PM and introduce us to a Red-tailed hawk and a Harris hawk.
    We are looking forward to learning more about falconry and these hawks! Public is invited to attend.

    You should go.

    My wife, her daughter, and I went to a rehab facility about 15 miles north of us a couple of times for 2 events.

    One was to interact with Hawks and Owls. They would fly into our arms. It was AWESOME! Of course, we had to put on the big leather arm gloves. The one owl was a Great Horned Owl. He was so friendly to all of us. We all (and anybody else who was there) got to have him fly across a room and land on our arm. There were little owls in cages that we fed little bits of meat.

    The Hawks event was held outside. There were 2 kinds of Hawks. We'd hold the bit of meat, and this woman would tell each hawk to fly about 50' to our arm.
    They told us to feel the difference in how they landed on our arm. One hit hard; the other not so much. It was AWESOME.

    The other event was the release of a BIG hawk or a Bald eagle. It certainly was HUGE. There were 50 people to see that happen.
    The bird had eaten meat with lead buckshot in it. Somebody found it in the wild and brought it to them. They brought it back to full health.
    I think they said birdshot is supposed to be non-toxic now. ;)

    If they had another event like those, we'd certainly go. B)

    The pics are on a thumb drive with 20,000 other pics and 170 videos too.

    I downloaded the thumb drive to my PC earlier. I noticed some pictures (only the description was on the files) I didn't need, so I marked them for deletion. I clicked, and the screen went black.

    Then my PC wouldn't recognise my thumb drive. I removed it. I'll try again later.

    My wife took pics of that HUGE raptor they were letting loose. But she didn't get one with the hood off its head. Still, you can see how HUGE it was. I'll get her to email me her pics, and I'll post them later.

    Dinner on the Grounds
    I remember all the food at these church events as a kid. The family went to an old church founded in 1834. The picture below is a current view of the church. I remember it without the facade on the front. It was basically a rectangle.
