    The image with the blower actually has the correct 65/66 front end and a 1965 grille.

    The bottom pic has the 1967 grille and a 67/68 front end.

    I tried really hard not to notice the fender flares and silly wheels because I would start throwing plates at the donkey. HAHAHA

    A hiker in Georgia is lucky to be alive after he attempted to scramble up a well-known climbing route with little more than sneakers, a backpack, and his cell phone.

    On Tuesday, August 25, rescuers from the White County Public Safety (WCPS) division received an SOS call at 7 P.M. According to a WCPS Facebook post, a hiker was stranded on the side of Mount Yonah, a 3,166-foot granite dome located 90 miles northeast of Atlanta.

    Mount Yonah’s granite face is the training site for the U.S. Army Rangers, which operates courses in rappelling and mountaineering on the peak’s steep granite face. Mountain Project, a website that catalogs rock climbing areas, lists 246 different routes, including 49 on the main face.

    Dale Sanders experienced six hard falls during his recent journey along the Appalachian Trail. While he fell a total of 71 times, he specifically identified six of those instances as hard falls.

    The 91-year-old Tennessee hiker completed the 2,193-mile trek atop Maine's Mount Katahdin, reclaiming his record as the oldest person to finish the trail. One of his hard falls was severe enough to require a hospital visit, and another occurred just 200 yards from the finish line. Sanders had previously set the record in 2017 at age 82, but lost it to M.J. Eberhart before successfully reclaiming it on this latest attempt.

    Relying on AI-generated advice proved to be a “critical misstep” for three climbers whose planned 8-hour ascent of California’s Mount Shasta spiraled into a grueling three-day ordeal. The climbers were finally rescued in a complex, multiday operation following an injury and two failed helicopter airlifts.

    Setting off at 3 a.m. on Sunday, the group reached the mountain’s summit 16 hours later, only to get lost on their descent after one of them fell and injured their leg. Rescuers safely evacuated the group on Monday.

    Hikers admitted to rescuers that they’d used several tech tools to plan their trip, including YouTube, the outdoor fitness and recreation app AllTrails and Google Gemini AI. Relying heavily on Gemini was a major mistake, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

    Without offline maps (PAPER MAPS) available, the disoriented group lost its way on the descent.
    The hikers reported that their phone batteries died and that their backup batteries wouldn’t function. Further reflecting their lack of proper gear, the injured hiker navigated in total darkness without a headlamp to save battery power.
