Up here in the far north
-- every 5 years or so, it's a good practice to get one's (gravel) driveway refreshed. I asked my "guy" (Robbie Williams, owner of an eponymous excavating firm, and a danged good site work kind of guy) to put me on his schedule this year. He usually does them in the fall, but to my surprise (and, frankly, delight) he showed up today to do it.
I am thrilled with the job he did on it, although that thrill will be tempered a little bit when I get the invoice.
Robbie's rates are quite reasonable, but he brought in three truckloads of gravel, and gravel ain't cheap in the current world. 
Robbie is very good at what he does and, best of all, is a genuinely nice guy.

The show’s first season in 1957 bounced back and forth between Ford and GM. Part of the time, Perry’s classy ride was a Fairlane 500 Skyliner, the iconic hardtop convertible, shown mostly with the top was down as Perry cruised to the latest forensic venue.
Perry Mason is actually a smorgasbord of mid-century cars, which can be seen on the road or in the backgrounds of the many street scenes, an apparent effort by the show’s producers to dress up the series with automotive eye candy, as well as helping the automakers to push their current models. Most are American iron, although there are a few foreign jobs sprinkled in there.
Many of the car spottings were the result of car company sponsorships, as was the product-placement system of the time, with Ford and General Motors pretty much trading off seasons during the nine years

My buddy Joey Kozol (RIP) had a '55 Ford Fairlane gifted from someone in the family. It had the 272 CI 162 HP Y block with a 'three on the tree' manual trans. Initially he stuffed a built 390 with a 4 speed in it. Later in life he had it back halved, ladder bars, roll cage, tubs for bigger slicks, 427 side oiler with medium riser heads and narrowed 9" Ford diff. Called it the Queen Cobra.
If you wanted Ford bling in '55, you opted for the Crown Victoria....

Hope you don't have tomato plants! If you do, and you're not careful -- you won't.
We've had trouble with them a couple of times over the years. It is easy to see the damage to do -- they eat the soft, fleshy parts of the leaves, leaving only the stems and the center veins of the erstwhile leaves -- but, big as they are, they can be remarkably hard to see on the plants!

And being from KY these also have a big appetite for tobacco plants. We used to cruise the rows of tobacco plants with a coffee can and pick them off, it was a often chore during tobacco growing season. Some farmers would pay us bounty for picking the worms, wasn’t much but being somewhat poor it was sweet treat money during the summer as was hoeing tobacco rows for weeds.

FWIW, my great aunt was a tobacco farmer in Severn, MD, just a little south of BWI airport (then still Friendship International). Severn was country when I was growing up.

No tomato plants. It's just hanging out on a small tree. -
