Sorry for such a nasty diagnosis. Sounds like maybe you caught it early and with some lifestyle modifications you can beat this. Odds sound incredibly good. Good luck, keep your head up and stay positive.

When you get news like this, which I'm gratful it's the least aggressive cancer at that stage I'm at, but it still hurts on all kinds of levels.
Of course it does and will continue. You're in the early stages of digesting this massive piece of news you've received. Only you will know when it starts to hurt less and how long that will take. In the meantime, you Need to take the time to process all of this.
Sucks as it consumes all my thoughts , went to a car show today, which is my happy place it as I was walking around with my wife looking at the nice cars, these thoughts of this kept haunting me. I try to forget it for awhile to basically give myself a break, but it's like I have no control over it.Dan

Think of those thoughts as an annoying salesman who keeps coming to your door. At first you will listen, then the next time youll be polite and say no thank you, eventually when he comes back over and over you'll tell him to f off and move along. Eventually though he'll stop coming to your door. Same with those thoughts. At some point you'll be telling them to f off over and over and they'll stop knocking at your brain's door. But good for you for getting out there. Don't forget this is super fresh. The bed is still warm.

It is and I have my feedom moments. I'm gonna fight this thing with everything I got. I'm still kinda young at 56 , just turned on the 3rd of June and I spent some of my Birthday in the doctors office getting the Petscan which sucks.
But I'm not going to allow this to beat me. I will survive and life the best rest of my life I can. I have a Hellcat I want to buy and I have check list stuff I need to do before it's my time.Dan

Hi Dan.
I think about you all the time and wonder if your pain is gone due to scripts, and also how the program is going that you decided to get on.
Still praying for you to beat this. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Very kind Tony,
Right now I did all the tests. I have 1 Mylomia Cancer on my rib. The one that was supposed to be in my chest turned into nothing. I also don't have anything at my tailbone which all are very good things not to have.
I had a Bone marrow / Plasma bone sample surgery Monday and I have to wait 2 weeks for the results of those tests. They send them to Seattle to a lab there that runs the test on the plasma inside my bones and the actual bone sample. That test sucked, I feels like someone like Mike Tyson punched me in the right side of my tailbone and then stuck me with a knife. It feels like a bad bruise and an inside pressure pin point pain I have from it. It's getting better , it's annoying as hell.
Then on top of all that my lower back still hurts which started this whole thing. I'll be honest, I'm basically worn out mentally from all the cancer stress, I worn out continuing going to the hospital to get all these tests done. I'm worn out from waiting on results and I have been in pain for I think going on 6 weeks straight.
I really appreciate you checking in on my and I'm really hoping the next steps treatment really gets me on my feet. I have not been to the Gym in a month as the doctor doesn't want me lifting anything heavy. I have however gone on walks just about every single day, I lift super light dumbbells I have here in my home gym. I have done some light Yoga stuff and I'm just trying to maintain my Muscle mass and not lose it like I did when my Bicep got torn off the bone last year.Dan

You're doing all you can. You should be happy about that. The waiting sucks but one day you get some definitive news and you'll go from there.

I'm sorry you're still in pain and fatigued.
Some Doctor should've put you on pain medication and Welbutrin/Bupropion for your fatigue. The fatigue might disappear the first day you take a pill. It did for me.
My neighbor was handed 2 pain scripts on day one after the MRI and before he had his first low-dose chemo treatments. I was glad to see him without his back pain. He wasn't fatigued, so he didn't need help with that issue.
I've been taking Bupropion for years for the fatigue that has no reason to happen. I'm not depressed in the least; I don't smoke and am in a ok weight level. But a Doc told me she had the perfect medicine within 30 minutes of meeting me for my fatigue. She was RIGHT. 100% cured of my unknown reason/s for my fatigue. It still works every day. Bupropion is the cheaper generic version.
I had that (COVID) chest problem, and that took me down for a few weeks, and I don't remember if I took that med during those weeks. It's been a couple of years now, and I'm gaining weight back and have tackled some big jobs too.
You should be pain-free! Get on those Doctors about it, and ask about getting some Wellbutrin/Bupropion too. It's a MIRACLE drug for fatigue and doesn't make you high either. It does something right for me.
You're too young to be suffering through all the tests and the timeline waiting for the results.
Let us know what the latest bone marrow test results indicate, if you care to.
Your bicep operation pain for over a year, and now this; they need to get your mind and body into a better state moving forward.
This is YOUR life story and book, and the pages are flipping, and the words have despair everywhere.
I had fatigue, and my family doctor didn't want to TRY and help me, so I told him I had to turn the page and find another doctor who would. He just said ok. He didn't care; he had a ton of other patients filling his office.
I met this Lady Doctor at the new Doctor's office months later when she filled in for some other Doctor who also didn't seem to care about my fatigue too much. I had neck pai/bs issues at the time too, so I was ready to switch again, and she came into my life. I left that facility shortly after that because the place was a scam joint, and my wife caught them just like Nick Shurly and his partner looking at the paperwork and the billing/payment logs in Minnesota.
Sometimes we have to make a hard choice and move to try and make our Life's story BETTER.
Good luck, Dan.
I hope your next update has a better mood outlook.

I decided to just live my life and see how it goes. Yes my back hurts every single day but I'm going back to the gym on super light duty just to keep moving. At night I do some Yoda, again super light so I can retain my flexibility and hopefully regain some I lost sitting around for the last 5 - 6 weeks now. I'm not built to rest, I'm built to move.Dan

Thanks for all the suggestions. I plan on a lot of things to turn myself around. A nutritionist is high on my list.
It's been an incredibly ruff road but I'm still breathing so every day I do is a good day.
However I am overly tired of being in pain. I will take your suggestion and see what they say, and like you if they don't want to help, I'll find someone that will.Dan

Hi Dan.
Have the Doctors addressed your pain and fatigue yet? Has your mood improved? I hope it has.
I met an old friend here at my home on Saturday, and he told me about what's been happening to his family the past year or so. We talked about our ages and the events of ageing that come with it. We chuckled about some things and also the seriousness of others. And he and his wife are 61, we're 69. They've been married for 40 years, and we've been married for 35. We've known each other for 25 or 30 years or so.
His wife just had a serious lung infection and barely made it out of the hospital. Scott found his wife on the floor late at night and rushed her to the hospital. The Doctos said that after another 1.5 hours, she wouldn't be alive; it was so serious. 10 days, some of them in ICU because she had Sepsis, just like the Nascar driver who died from it a month or two ago had. She came home on Sunday doing a lot better. She's getting her energy back fast now, though. The Doctors are running culture tests on the remaining fluids that were still left before she was released. Some came back negative so far, and the remaining tests will take a lot longer to perform. Of course, they'll tell her as soon as they get results on those. But she's home working in her beautiful Japanese Maple and flower bed landscapes, which she's grown over the years as her hobby for years.
Front and back yard gardens look GREAT! Waterfalls and small streams, too. Scott doesn't like her working so much after what she went through, but Kim is Kim, and those gardens are her passion. I'd probably do the same around here just to keep moving. Slow and steady, they say.
He tripped and tore a tendon around his ankle, and then he fell and tore his meniscus tendon behind his knee cap a week ago. He's in pain when he stretches it one way or another. Tomorrow, Thursday morning, he'll find out about the surgery he's going to have. Then he's going to SC to see his mom for the weekend.
His Mom found out she has Liver cancer and has about 6 months to 1.5 years to get ready for the end. She is NOT going to get chemo and spend the remaining time suffering the sickness that comes from that. She's in her 70s and said she's fine knowing what she does now.
I hope to hear from you that you are still helping your partner in your business.

So I wanted to leave a update here as some of you have been asking some questions I don't really have answers yet.
I did the Bone marrow biopsy thing where they take a pice of my hip bone and also take a sample of my bone blood plasma. They sent those samples to another state and it takes at least 2 weeks to get all the results back.
I did get some of the results back, most negative as they ran like 10 different tests. I'm still waiting on 1 test to complete and then I expect my doctor to call and go over the treatment I'm gonna need.
Anyway another update is the follows.
I started this whole journey with unbelievable rib pain that turned into lower left back pain to the point at night into the morning , it hurt so bad I could barely walk or bend over in anyway. it ruined my sleep and has been hurting for about 9 weeks straight.
On that note, my back pain has eased over the last few days to a mild sore. My left hip still hurts a bit more but nothing like it was.
Ok so I have done King Fu and Yoga many years ago and barely practice either. When my back was hurting so badly about a week and a 1/1 ago , I decided to work in some super light Yoda movements to try and stretch or strengthen my back. Well It worked as I said the pain is way less now but I developed a new issue. There is a movement called downward dog. You are on your knees and hands and lift your right hand off the floor and your left leg slowly and easy. Then you put them down and do the other side. Your repeat back and forth for 20 reps, I did 10 so only 5 on each side. Before this I was doing some sitting work in a crossed leg position and various movements out of the position. Once I completed the Downward dog movements, I got off the floor to do some standing positions light and easy. Well, my chest hurt very bad to my right shoulder. Imagine your collar bone connecting to your shoulder to the middle of your chest. Then imagine someone hitting that bone with a bat. Then hitting the other side so both collar bones hurt like bone pain. I never knew what bone pain is and it might not be that but man , it hurts on a level that is similar on how my back was hurting.
So I have been rubbing creams on it, I have 3 differnet ones that should help but honestly it doesn't feel like muscle pain, I can only explan it as bone pain. It sucks real bad and as soon as my doctor calls I'm gonna tell him what has been going on and how I got it to happen. He told me to not go to the Gym, I have gone 3 times against his wishes but I modified my work out to the point I'm barely warming up. Super light weights to the point I'm just going through the motions.
My will is stronger than by body right now , I'm very afraid to keep going backwards in my physical health so I try to do things that I feel isnt' going to hurt me but maybe help me retain what I have, muscle I mean. When you get older, I'm now 56, turned June 3rd , you worry about losing muscle and getting weaker. I have had so many set backs in 2020-till now and I refuse to keep allowing things to beat me. Maybe I'm wrong in my quest but I don't want to just sit around and prepare to die.
I did some Tai Chi today and that felt great. Yes a aprart of my Kung fu is Tia chi, if you wanna know I studied a lot of different arts under the northern Chinese teachings. 7 Star Praying Mantis , 5 anamals , Long fist , Ba Gua , Tai Chi etc. So until my doctor calls with the rest of my results and go over our next steps, I'm gonna modify more of my Yoga routine and add in Tai Chi. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing or not but damn it I'm unwilling to sit around.Dan

Your back pain eases and your damn clavicles take over the "always present" pain and aggravation duties.

I would do the same as you. Keep moving and trying to work muscles all over your body. You know if we stop moving at our age, we'll harden up. Neighbors must think I'm CRAZY, and now my wife is helping a little also, to pull up Bahia grass seed stalks from our lawn almost everyday now. A doctor once said, to get the best heathy exercise, pour out a bottle of aspirins and then pick them up. LOL, but it makes sense.

I'm REALLY glad the tests are coming back negative.
That's great you know Japanese / Chinese martial arts training technics. You SHOULD live to 100 doing those stretching's.
Remember, look into that Wellbutrin.

Update,
I have single Mylomea in my left rib under my arm pit and that rib is broken.
I have 1% cancer in my Plasma inside by bones.
They found no cancer in my bones themselves.
I'm stage 1 cancer
My Protein in my bloodwork and urine is very high which is what triggered the Mylomea response with imaging.
As of today, the only other concern is a degenerative disc at T 11 , they want me to go for a MRI which I completey hate, to make sure there isn't anything cancer related going on there.
I don't understand this move as my doctor said for my age 56 , I have a very healthy spine and having only 1 degenerative disc is damn good. The one that is is about the same as someone younger than me.
For the past 2 weeks my back got a lot better and right away I moved to Collar bone , shoulder and neck pain. It's like my body needs to be in constant pain as the pain just moved. Told the doctor about this and he didn't seem concerned.
Not looking forward to the MRi, had one when I ripped my bicep off the bone and it sucked real bad. I hate that machine. I don't feel I need it back my doctor does so I have to go today, I want to cal lout sickDan

Thank you for the update.
It sounds like there's just the one spot of cancer now. It sounds treatable.
Don't they have enough MRI images to work with now?! Why repeat a procedure?
I'm shocked the doctor doesn't care about your pain. Move on to another doctor.
My pain meds, when I had a prescription was 7.00 for 3 months. Why SOME medical docs don't want to make us comfortable, at 7.00 for 3 months of comfort, is weird.
Maybe they had THEIR ability to prescribe pain meds was revoked is because they were caught dealing or some other scenario involving opiates. Your 56 for God's sake. Does this doc want you to drink alcohol or smoke pot to take your pain away?
Wishing you the best moving forward.

Well I just got back and unfortunately I didn't fit properly inside this Old MRI machine they had at one of the campuses. It was the older style MRI machine that is a round tube like thing and my shoulders hit the sides going in and I freaked out being in there for 5 seconds.
The Lab technician said it's pretty common people don't fit properly and or freak out if they go in there in such a tight small space. I'm not claustrophobic but that thing actually was crushing my shoulders, it was to tight and I'm already in pain so I had to get out.
I sent a message to my doctor on the portal to wait further instructions.
On a side note , this has been going on since early May and I'm actually getting sick and tired of tests and the amount of time between them and no treatment. I just want to start treatment so I can get better.Dan

Dude I have had a X ray , a Cat Scan and a Petscan. The MRI was not even called from my Doctor, the Radiologist suggested it before I start treatment and my doctor agreed. I didnt' want this done today anyway and I think me not fitting just in a round about way suggests to me that I don't need it. I have had a MRI before and got through it but I fit inside the one I did, it was the hamburger style as the tech called it that I would fit in.
far as pot is concerned, I'm strongly considering going to gummies at a very low dose and looking that way. I have been on a prescribed months ago, 1 fill of a strong Advil 500 mg dose. I don't take those everyday as I don't want to cause issues that they can cause so I grin and bare the pain and only take as necessary.Dan

I wonder if you're going to be charged for that non-MRI procedure.
OK, I guess the MRI is the last test to do to complete all the tests they can do to you.
My neighbor had the MRI first, and that was the only test, except blood work done afterwards.
Your shoulder and neck already hurt. The Doc and lab/MRI techs should KNOW what shoulder size/width will fit in that particular donut tube. Again, it's 2026...they should have a size chart from when it was first manufactured as to who can fit. Also, the claustrophobic factor. I had an MRI, and I JUST made it through the freak-out test with my eyes shut tight. The tube was big enough that I didn't touch the tube, so that was definitely in my favor.
I went in for a throat stretching a year ago. I woke up afterward to hear it couldn't be done. My throat openning is too small for an adult stretcher. They wanted me to now have the doc and me go at a later date to our local hospital, where they have a juvenile throat stretcher.
I WAS CHARGED FOR THE NON-PROCEDURE!
I had told them an Ibuprofen tab would get caught in my throat on the pre-procedure form!
They ignored that! I was P'd off and let the girl on the phone know it after a day or two had passed. I could've thrown a brick or three through their huge glass wall panels in the front of their facility; I was so P'd. I never had the doc do ANOTHER throat procedure again. The doc messed up once and billed me, so why would I pay her again?!
You should not have been put in that smaller-sized tube, PERIOD. I hope you don't have to pay a dime.

It sucked man. I live outside of Philadelphia and I had to drive to that location which is different than the usual location. It was in a bad part of Philadelphia which just driving there was a bit uncomfortable. Then to get there, check in , wait in the waiting room, go back, get prepped, then not be able to do the test sucked. I was pretty frustrated when I left and I'm never going back to that campus. Driving away was even worse, it was like driving through a 3rd world country , there even was a fire hydrant shooting water all over the one of the roads and it was so dirty and run down. Back at the front desk, my Daughter and myself felt it was pretty unprofessional as they were just talking to other people and not helping us. When they finally did, I had to ask where I should go, they didn't even give me instruction as they just went back to talking and I had to excuse myself as I needed to know how to get where I needed to be. It was a bad feeling even before the unsuccessful test.
It kinda sucks as the Hospital I'm dealing with now it so much better than the one I use to use. My doctor is very good with just the exception of the non address of my should and neck pain. He's been great otherwise.
Sorry about your experience, I wish the medial community was much better in the USA, we pay extreme amounts of money for the service and most of the time I feel we don't get the value back .Dan
