We probably got 4-5" here in central SC and of course my outdoor mounted water heater is frozen with no hot water this morning. It's gonna be in the mid 50's later this week.zve3g3ctf11v.jpeg

That water heater being frozen is bad news for now. :s:#

I hope all is well when it thaws. o:)

We got about 5" of fine snow also.

Of course, my wife wants to get out there and get the snow off wherever we walk, including the driveway, sidewalks, and porches. She is going to try using her Toro blower today since it is mostly fine snow for now.

Man! Whoever thought that was a good idea should be smacked about the head and neck area.
Our cat, Oreo, is amazed by this phenomenon.
Throw him outside for an hour or two, his amazement will cease quickly. 😁
Our heat pump is running a lot tonight. I'm going to turn it down another degree to 74. That will help some.
75°? That's crazy! Your furnace would be glowing red if you kept it that hot up here in central Illinois. I bet you keep it 70° in the summer 😜

This video and song sure fit this snowstorm scenario perfectly right now.

My long departed kitty thought I controlled the weather. The first time she saw snow she gave me a WTF look with a hard tail swoosh.

Most homes down here have them mounted outside which is mind boggling. After about 30 F bombs trying to thaw it today I finally got it working. I blasted the Pex pipe for about an hour leading up to it to no avail. I found if ya take the other cover off that has copper pipe leading to the heat exchanger is where it was frozen and blasted it for about 10 minutes and the water came back.

This was my last winter in Ruston WA in 2021. I moved back home to TX that July. This was common each winter. Would only last a couple of weeks on average. I miss it TBH. The house to the left of me was the corner house. I had my knee replacement in Jan of 19. I used the snow for physical therapy as I'd walk up to the corner and back in shin high snow.

Old photo. We usually get at least two big snows every winter. This winter we've had nothing but rain. Like every day for the last 3 months with brief glimpses of sunshine from time to time. I'd rather have snow.

From Friday Jan30th to Sunday morning Feb1st the winds were crazy! My elevation is ~3800 ft and the windchill stayed in the negatives. We got 10-12 inches and the biggest drift was ~ 3-4ft deep ~8-10 ft wide and about 20ft long. The drift of course went across the lower portion of my driveway. :#

    Saturday night (31st) around 730p:

    Again at around 11p:
