Been listening to a bunch of vinyl the past few days. Wow! Upgraded my CD player a month or two ago and thought that was nuts, but there is still something amazing about records!

I'll say, especially when you have that nice of a cartridge! Enjoy!

Yesterday, replaced the two Input Attenuator's on the Clair Bros Phase Linear 700's.
Today, going in to the Balance Pot Control to get some static out. Some Deox & Lube.
If that doesn't cure the static noise and dropping out it's time for a replacement.

Trying out a Memory Player (on loan from a friend). So far, pretty impressive with simply plugging it in and hitting play.

I could use a memory player, can you set the date and time of the memory to play?

I moved my mono amps off of a common stand, and stretched out the power cables to unloop them. I like the way it’s more open between the speakers. That is until I put the J2 back in the system.

I ended up purchasing the Memory Player. It was a deal that was too good to pass up. Now I have 4 sources. Physical CD and LP sources, and with this, streaming through the Lumin as well as playing the collection (and currently loaded music) through the Memory Player.

The memory has only just been started, yet I could load my entire collection onto it, and it still wouldn't make a dent. There is already enough music on it to not even listen to everything on it well into the end of the new year if I listened constantly.

I still have some things to set up, but the next test will be to rip a CD and see if the claims for physical music are bested by a copy on a different player. That has never been the case before, so we shall see.

I have heard things on a copy that weren't as prevalent or noticeable on the original CD, but at the same time, I have always been able to detect the difference between the two and there was no clear winner as to which sounded better/worse. There were simply differences between the two, and that was it.

This should be interesting and quite a bit of fun!

I need to look this up. I have never heard of a Memory Player.

I have a few ripped CDs from lossless files that when I compare to the original commercial CD are noticeably not quite as good, mainly with regards to dynamics and soundstage. They "sound" similar in terms of frequency range, but not those other aspects.

The one thing that sucks? Managing the cables and doing the human pretzel in order to do so.....or even hook things up or disconnect.

I need more real estate for the rig, period.

There were a few cds back in the day that actually had Easter eggs when you ripped it and it wasn't audible on the disc originally
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I hear ya Tom. I have really been thinking about clutter clean up and wiring over the last 6’ish weeks. I finally decided what I wanted to do and started the system breakdown. My system is made up of 2 3 shelf Solid Steel racks that are side by side. Previously I had my integrated on one of the middle shelves. Seemed like a great spot but during my reconfiguration I decided to move it to the top shelf. This kept many power cables, for streamer DAC phono pre, from having to pass the integrated which freed up some space for all the interconnects.

I’m really happy with the new configuration and was glad that I considered all component locations before just going after it.
