Saw one sitting in a record store in Vero. Guy said they developed a noise and they trashed the other one. I asked if he wanted to get rid of the remainder for parts since i have a set. They were on a loft and he didn't want to get them down.

SDA CRS for $400 here in Nashville. They look to be in great shape, but no mention of the grills, nor the SDA cable.

I'm not sure if that's a good price or not. Also, how would these compare to say, Monitor 10s?

No mention of grills or IC cord what I see. Tad bit high on price depending on area & availability.. IMO the CRS speakers are better then the Monitor 10's. Imo the Polk sda1c & 2b are better then the crs's

Thanks for your reply, Randy. I messaged the seller, and he does have the grills (sent me a pic), which look very clean...like the cabinets. He does not have the IC cable, but I could make one pretty easily.

I currently have two pair of M10 (with upgraded crossover components), and a pair of SDA 1B, but the 'landscape' orientation of the CRS pique my interest. I might use them for HT purposes in a bookcase...and for music as well, in the same space.

I agree that the price is a tad bit high, so I will mull it over. Thanks again!

If there hard to come by & are clean they may be the pair to purchase. They are great speakers. With just a simple tweeter upgrade if you don't like the sl2000s you'll love em

Monitor 5’s with stands outside Philly. I debated going to get these today, but it’s 2-1/2 hours of my life in my car seat and 30 bucks of gas for me so… passing them along.

Well, these 5’s are closer in north Baltimore but he wouldn’t go lower than 80 bucks. They are in “excellent condition” according to him, so maybe somebody here will pay him that. If I didn’t have 5jr’s already along with everything else, I might have paid him 80.

Get them! Original stands are worth the asking price all by themselves.

Those would get an all-billet baffle and side mounted PRs.

Yep, I don't think Polk will bring them back and take them to the next level.
An integral mounted RDO tweeter would be the show-stopper.

You could mount them on their sides facing each other. Would allow you to place closer to the wall.

And if the PR faced each other they would cancel each other out right?

I don't believe those lower freq. would cancel each other. Many newer monitors have the PRs on their sides.

If you sat perfectly centered between the speakers, it would actually be constructive interference. Bass frequencies are pretty omnidirectional though.

Interesting experiment for someone with 2 subwoofers would be to set one at 180deg phase setting and sit in between them and see what happens.

Well with car subwoofers in those isoberic boxes or whatever I was told when they face the subs at each other they run one out of phase from the other. Take that with a grain of salt though. That's just what I remember.

I can say this now that I remember. My JBL L7's are run in phase and face each other and have tremendous bass. Just looked and my AR-9"s are wired same way. In phase, all four woofers.
