Ah, yes, The Imperial Strangler of Hoth.
The story goes, the two women were Amidala's handmaidens, casually strolling this path depicted here at Higher Learning Of Hoth, and unwittingly came upon a spying Darth Vader, obscured by some shrubbery.
The women would inadvertently startle Darth, causing him to raise his arm reflexively - flinching to ward off a strike.
You see, Darth was bullied here at Higher Learning of Hoth, the other kids making fun of his breathing, drawing pictures of him with a pug's head an' stuff. As a result, Darth suffered great social anxiety, and was painfully shy, and really just kept to himself. He fell deep into fantasy fiction reading, developing an obsession for sword fighting. Because the best sword fighters always got the girl in the end, you know? So he became really good at swords.
Anyway, in flinching and drawing up his arm in protection, a great power was awakened in Darth for the first time - the power to choke with a gesture. A power which the women would later use in the Imperial Courts to accuse Darth of assault. But really, he just panicked once discovered, thinking they were gonna beat him up.
He was let off with a stern warning due to lack of evidence, and outcast further. Amidala took pity on Darth a couple of years later after seeing him rescue some kittens in a burlap sack down by the river, and we all know how the rest of the story goes from there.
Rumor has it, at least one of his descendants lives among us on this forum. You know him. Tall, radio voice guy? Defiler if shrubbery?

That will take a HUGE plane
Oh yea, they actually completed the landing strip.
That runway ended up being one of the alternate landing strips for the shuttle.
There’s an artist rendering of the plane those engines were to go into.
On display, those engines, at the INEL in Idaho.
They also had a full scale submarine with submersible capabilities to train navy personnel. -

Lol, this pic reminds me of a worthy post.
Sorry I don't have an actual pic, let's see if I can paint one.....
Recently, an air force friend came to visit. Haven't seen him and his wife since I left the military in 1982.
We were laughing about old times when his wife reminded me of something I did that I had completely forgotten about.
My main transpo was motorcycles back then, first a 1980 Yamaha 650 Maxim, wadded it doing 140mph, followed by a 1981 Honda 900F SuperSport with the ins $$.
After having knee surgery, the removal of torn meniscus due to a non-motorcycle injury, I was released on crutches but I still rode my 900. I'd crutch out to my bike, get on, secure the crutches by way of resting them on the front and rear turn signals each side while my legs rested over the outside of them, keeping them in place.
I never gave it a second thought back then, but my friends wife said I was one crazy A-hole the first time she saw me ride up to their place on a big motorcycle, then crutch up to the door.
I may have been crazy but I was more streamlined than this pic posted
Catch up with us next week, when I share the story of modifying both my arm casts so I could still ride my bike......

ahem given some chatter on some threads here recently

I am just depositing this here. It might come in handy for someone at some point.
One might want to crop out the header text -- then again, it might not even matter.
