    You are not alone (in case you felt the need for a support group and/or affirmation). :#

    The one significant exception: In the mid-ish 1970s, like many Japanese companies, Yamaha sold some low end umm, entry level, US-made loudspeakers. This saved substantial costs on shipping large, heavy, but basically empty boxes in the days of the energy crisis crises (1974 and 1978).
    The one I remember was the Yamaha NS-4, a decidedly ordinary two-way, acoustic suspension monkey coffin with a dome tweeter and a vinyl-covered box. IIRC, they were $90 a pop, give or take -- and they actually sound(ed)... pretty darned respectable.

    The ruby-throated hummingbird on the feeder is a female. The other one (with the... umm... ruby throat) is a male.
